01 / Waking & Sleeping

Before Sleeping

بِاسْمِكَ رَبِّي وَضَعْتُ جَنْبِي، وَبِكَ أَرْفَعُهُ، فَإِنْ أَمْسَكْتَ نَفْسِي فَارْحَمْهَا، وَإِنْ أَرْسَلْتَهَا فَاحْفَظْهَا، بِمَا تَحْفَظُ بِهِ عِبَادَكَ الصَّالِحِينَ

Bismika rabbee wadaAAtu janbee wabika arfaAAuh, fa-in amsakta nafsee farhamha, wa-in arsaltaha fahfathha bima tahfathu bihi AAibadakas-saliheen.

In Your name my Lord, I lie down and in Your name I rise, so if You should take my soul then have mercy upon it, and if You should return my soul then protect it in the manner You do so with Your righteous servants.

At-Tirmidhi: 3401 ↗

Before Sleeping

اللّٰہُمَّ خَلَقْتَ نَفْسِي وَأَنْتَ تَوَفَّاهَا لَكَ مَمَاتُهَا وَمَحْيَاهَا، إِنْ أَحْيَيْتَهَا فَاحْفَظْهَا، وَإِنْ أَمَتَّهَا فَاغْفِرْ لَهَا. اللّٰہُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ العَافِيَةَ

Allahumma khalaqta nafsee wa-anta tawaffaha laka mamatuha wamahyaha in ahyaytaha fahfathha, wa-in amattaha faghfir laha. Allahumma innee as-alukal-AAafiyah.

O Allah, You have created my soul and it is for You to take it in death. Its death and its life are in Your Hand. If You cause it to live then protect it and if You cause it to die then forgive it. O Allah, I ask you to keep me safe and sound.

Before Sleeping

اللَّهُمَّ قِنِي عَذَابَكَ يَوْمَ تَبْعَثُ عِبَادَكَ

Allahumma qinee AAathabaka yawma tabAAathu AAibadak.

O Allah, protect me from Your punishment on the day Your servants are resurrected.

Abu Dawud: 5045 ↗

Before Sleeping

بِاسْـمِكَ اللَّهُمَّ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَا

Bismikal-lahumma amootu wa-ahya.

In Your name O Allah, I live and die.

When you wake up

اَلۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰہِ الَّذِیۡ أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ

Alhamdu lillahil-lathee ahyana baAAda ma amatana wa-ilayhin-nushoor.

All praise is for Allah who gave us life after having taken it from us and unto Him is the resurrection.

Sahih Al-Bukhari: 6312 ↗

06 / Waking & Sleeping

When you wake up

اَلۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰہِ الَّذِیۡ عَافَانِي فِي جَسَدِي، وَرَدَّ عَلَيَّ رُوحِي، وَأَذِنَ لِي بِذِكْرِهِ

Alhamdu lillahil-lathee AAafanee fee jasadee waradda AAalayya roohee wa-athina lee bithikrih.

All praise is for Allah who restored to me my health and returned my soul and has allowed me to remember Him.

At-Tirmidhi: 3401 ↗

07 / Waking & Sleeping

When you wake up

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ، سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ ، وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَاللّٰہُ اَکۡبَرُ ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللّٰهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي

La ilaha illal-lahu wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahul-mulku walahul-hamd, wahuwa AAala kulli shay-in qadeer, subhanal-lah, walhamdu lillah, wala ilaha illal-lah wallahu akbar, wala hawla wala quwwata illa billahil-AAaliyyil AAatheem. Rabbigh-fir lee

None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, with no partner or associate. His is the dominion and all praise is to Him, and He is Able to do all things. Glory is to Allah, praise is to Allah, none has the right to be worshiped but Allah, Allah is the Most Great, and there is no power and no strength except with Allah, the Most High, the Most Supreme. O Lord, forgive me.

08 / Toilet & Ablution

Before entering toilet

اللَّهُـمَّ إِنِّي أَعُـوذُ بِـكَ مِـنَ الْخُـبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ

Allahumma inni a`udhu bika min al-khubuthi wal khaba'ith

O Allah, I take refuge with you from all evil and evil-doers.

Sahih Al-Bukhari: 6322 ↗

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ

Ashhadu an la ilaha illal-lahu wahdahu la shareeka lah, wa-ashhadu anna Muhammadan AAabduhu warasooluh.

I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

12 / Toilet & Ablution

When completing ablution

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ، اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِنَ التَّوَّابِينَ وَاجْعَلْنِي مِنَ الْمُتَطَهِّرِينَ

Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah, wahdahu la sharika lahu, wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan-abduhu wa rasuluhu, Allahummajalni minat tawwabin, waj’alni minal mutatahhirin.

I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. O Allah, make me of those who return to You often in repentance and make me of those who remain clean and pure.

When Leaving Home

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ تَوَكَّلْـتُ عَلَى اللّٰهِ، لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُـوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللّٰهِ

Bismil-lah, tawakkaltu AAalal-lah, La hawla wala quwwata illa billah.

In the name of Allah, I trust in Allah; there is no might and no power but in Allah.

Abu Dawud: 5095 ↗

When Leaving Home

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَضِلَّ أَوْ أُضَلَّ أَوْ أَزِلَّ أَوْ أُزَلَّ أَوْ أَظْلِمَ أَوْ أُظْلَمَ أَوْ أَجْهَلَ أَوْ يُجْهَلَ عَلَىَّ

Allahumma innee aAAoothu bika an adilla aw odal, aw azilla aw ozall, aw athlima aw othlam, aw ajhala aw yujhala AAalay.

O Allah, I take refuge with You lest I should stray or be led astray, or slip or be tripped, or oppress or be oppressed, or behave foolishly or be treated foolishly.’ slip: i.e. to commit a sin unintentionally

Upon Entering Home

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ وَلَجْنَا وَبِسْمِ اللّٰهِ خَرَجْنَا وَعَلَى اللّٰهِ رَبِّنَا تَوَكَّلْنَا

Bismil-lahi walajna, wabismil-lahi kharajna, waAAalallahi rabbina tawakkalna.

In the name of Allah we enter and in the name of Allah we leave, and upon our Lord we place our trust.

For travel

سُبۡحٰنَ الَّذِیۡ سَخَّرَ لَنَا ہٰذَا وَ مَا کُنَّا لَہٗ مُقۡرِنِیۡنَ ۙ وَ اِنَّا اِلٰی رَبِّنَا لَمُنۡقَلِبُوۡنَ

Subhana-alladhi sakh-khara la-na hadha wa ma kunna la-hu muqrinin. Wa inna ila Rabbi-na la munqalibun.

Glory unto Him Who created this transportation, for us, though we were unable to create it on our own. And unto our Lord we shall return.

Sahih Muslim: 1342, Surah Az-Zukhruf 43:13-14 ↗

While returning from travel

اللّٰهُ اَکۡبَرُ ، اللّٰهُ اَکۡبَرُ ، اللّٰهُ اَکۡبَرُ ، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ، وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ، آيِبُونَ تَائِبُونَ عَابِدُونَ سَاجِدُونَ لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُونَ، صَدَقَ اللّٰهُ وَعْدَهُ وَنَصَرَ عَبْدَهُ وَهَزَمَ الأَحْزَابَ وَحْدَهُ

Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Laa ilaaha illallaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku, wa lahul-hamdu, wa Huwa alaa kulli shay in Qadeer, aaiboona, taaiboona, aabidoona, saajidoona, lirabbinaa haamidoona, sadaqallaahu wadahu, wa nasara abdahu, wa hazamal-ahzaaba wahdahu.

Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest. None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and praise, and He is over all things omnipotent. We return, repent, worship and praise our Lord. Allah fulfilled His promise, aided His Servant, and single-handedly defeated the allies.

When night approaches during Travel

يَا أَرْضُ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكِ اللّٰهُ أَعُوذُ بِاللّٰهِ مِنْ شَرِّكِ وَشَرِّ مَا فِيكِ وَشَرِّ مَا خُلِقَ فِيكِ وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَا يَدِبُّ عَلَيْكِ وَأَعُوذُ بِاللّٰهِ مِنْ أَسَدٍ وَأَسْوَدَ وَمِنَ الْحَيَّةِ وَالْعَقْرَبِ وَمِنْ سَاكِنِ الْبَلَدِ وَمِنْ وَالِدٍ وَمَا وَلَدَ

Ya Ardh! Rabbi wa Rabbukillah, audhu billah min sharraki wa sharri ma fiki, wa sharri ma khuliqa fiki, wa min sharri ma yadibbu alaik, wa audhu billahi min asadin wa aswada wa minal-hayati wal-aqrabi, wa min sakinil-balad, wa min walidin wama walad

O earth, my Lord and your Lord is Allah; I seek refuge in Allah from your evil, the evil of what you contain, the evil of what has been created in you, and the evil of what creeps upon you; I seek refuge in Allah from lions, from large black snakes, from other snakes, from scorpions, from the evil of jinn which inhabit a settlement, and from a parent and his offspring.

For accommodation

رَّبِّ اَنۡزِلۡنِیۡ مُنۡزَلًا مُّبٰرَکًا وَّ اَنۡتَ خَیۡرُ الۡمُنۡزِلِیۡنَ

Rabbi anzilnee munzalan mubarakanwaanta khayru almunzileen

My Lord, let me land at a blessed landing place, and You are the best to accommodate [us].

Surah Al-Muminoon - 23:29 ↗

Before sleeping at night during travel

أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللّٰهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ

A’oothu bikalimaatil-laahit-taammaati min sharri maa khalaqa

I seek refuge in the Perfect Words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.

Sahih Muslim: 2708 (a) ↗

23 / Food & Drink

After finishing a meal

اَلۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰہِ الَّذِیۡ أَطْعَمَنَا وَسَقَانَا وَجَعَلَنَا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ

Alhamdulilahil ladhi at’amana, wasaqana, waj’alna min-al Muslimeen

Praise be to Allah Who has fed us and given us drink and made us Muslims.

24 / Food & Drink

When given a drink

اللَّهُمَّ أَطْعِمْ مَنْ أَطْعَمَنِي وَأَسْقِ مَنْ أَسْقَانِي

Allahumma at’im man at’amani, wasqi man asaqani

O Allah! Feed him who fed me and give him drink who gave me to drink.

Sahih Muslim: 2055 (a) ↗

25 / Food & Drink

Upon drinking milk

اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ وَزِدْنَا مِنْهُ

Allahumma baarik lana feehi wa zidna minhu

O Allah! Bless us in it and give us increase of it.

26 / Food & Drink

When dining at someone's house

اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَهُمْ فِيمَا رَزَقْتَهُمْ وَاغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَارْحَمْهُمْ

Allahumma barik lahum feema razaqtahum, waghfir lahum, war hamhum

O Allah! Bless them in what You have provided for them, and forgive them and have Mercy on them.

Abu Dawud: 3729 ↗

27 / Food & Drink

When opening your fast

اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ صُمْتُ وَعَلَى رِزْقِكَ أَفْطَرْتُ

Allahumma laka sumtu wa ala rizq-ika-aftartu

O Allah! For You I have fasted and upon your provision, I have broken my fast.

Abu Dawud: 2358 ↗

28 / Food & Drink

When opening your fast

ذَهَبَ الظَّمَأُ وَابْتَلَّتِ الْعُرُوقُ وَثَبَتَ الأَجْرُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللّٰهُ

Dhahaba al-zama’ wa abtalat al-‘urooq wa thabata al-ajr in sha Allaah

Thirst is gone, the veins are moistened and the reward is certain if Allaah wills.

29 / Food & Drink

For someone who provides you with Iftar

أَفْطَرَ عِنْدَكُمُ الصَّائِمُونَ وَأَكَلَ طَعَامَكُمُ الأَبْرَارُ وَصَلَّتْ عَلَيْكُمُ الْمَلاَئِكَةُ

Aftara ‘indakumus-saimun, wa akala ta’amakumul-abrar, wa sallat ‘alaikumul- mala’ikah

May the fasting (men) break their fast with you, and the pious eat your food, and the angels pray for blessing on you.

Ibn Majah: 1747 ↗

30 / Food & Drink

If one forgets to mention Allah at the beginning

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ فِي أَوَّلِهِ وَآخِرِهِ

Bismillah, fi awwalihi wa akhirih

In the Name of Allah at the beginning and at the end.

31 / Clothing & Appearance

While wearing clothes

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِي كَسَانِي هَذَا الثَّوْبَ وَرَزَقَنِيهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِنِّي وَلاَ قُوَّةٍ

Alhamdu lillahil-lathee kasanee hadhath-thawba warazaqaneehi min ghayri hawlin minnee wala quwwah.

All Praise is for Allah who has clothed me with this garment and provided it for me, with no power or might from myself.

Abu Dawud: 4023 ↗

32 / Clothing & Appearance

When wearing new clothes

اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ كَسَوْتَنِيهِ أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِهِ وَخَيْرِ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ وَشَرِّ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ

Allaahumma lakal-hamdu ‘Anta kasawtaneehi, ‘as’aluka min khayrihi wa khayri maa suni’a lahu, wa ‘a’oothu bika min sharrihi wa sharri ma suni’a lahu

O Allah, praise is to You. You have clothed me. I ask You for its goodness and the goodness of what it has been made for, and I seek Your protection from the evil of it and the evil of what it has been made for.

33 / Clothing & Appearance

When looking into the mirror

اللَّهُمَّ أَحْسَنْتَ خَلْقِي فَحَسِّنْ خُلُقِي

Allahumma aḥassanta khalqee fa ḥassin khuluqee

O Allah! You have given me good physical shape so grant me a good attitude.

34 / Adhan & Iqamah

During Athan

لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللّٰهِ

Laa hawla wa laa quwwata ‘illaa billaah

There is no might and no power except by Allah.

Sahih Al-Bukhari: 613 ↗

35 / Adhan & Iqamah

After Listening Athan

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ هَذِهِ الدَّعْوَةِ التَّامَّةِ وَالصَّلاَةِ الْقَائِمَةِ، آتِ مُحَمَّدَا ۣ الْوَسِيلَةَ وَالْفَضِيلَةَ، وَابْعَثْهُ مَقَامًا مَحْمُودَا ۣ الَّذِي وَعَدْتَهُ

Allaahumma Rabba haathid - da’watit - taammati wassalaatil-qaa’imati, ‘aati Muhammadanil-waseelata walfadheelata, wab ‘ath-hu maqaamam-mahmoodanil-lathee wa’adtahu.

O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and established prayer. Grant Muhammad the intercession and favor, and raise him to the honored station You have promised him.

36 / Before Prayer

After Takbeer (Start of prayer)

وَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّذِي فَطَرَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ إِنَّ صَلاَتِي وَنُسُكِي وَمَحْيَاىَ وَمَمَاتِي لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَبِذَلِكَ أُمِرْتُ وَأَنَا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الْمَلِكُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ ‏.‏ أَنْتَ رَبِّي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي وَاعْتَرَفْتُ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي جَمِيعًا إِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ وَاهْدِنِي لأَحْسَنِ الأَخْلاَقِ لَا يَهْدِي لأَحْسَنِهَا إِلاَّ أَنْتَ وَاصْرِفْ عَنِّي سَيِّئَهَا لَا يَصْرِفُ عَنِّي سَيِّئَهَا إِلاَّ أَنْتَ لَبَّيْكَ وَسَعْدَيْكَ وَالْخَيْرُ كُلُّهُ فِي يَدَيْكَ وَالشَّرُّ لَيْسَ إِلَيْكَ أَنَا بِكَ وَإِلَيْكَ تَبَارَكْتَ وَتَعَالَيْتَ أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ

Wajjahtu wajhiya lillathee fataras-samawati wal-arda haneefan wama ana minal-mushrikeen, inna salatee wanusukee wamahyaya wamamatee lillahi rabbil-AAalameen, la shareeka lahu wabithalika omirtu wa-ana minal-muslimeen. Allahumma antal-maliku la ilaha illa ant. anta rabbee wa-ana AAabduk, thalamtu nafsee waAAtaraftu bithanbee faghfir lee thunoobee jameeAAan innahu la yaghfiruth-thunooba illa ant.wahdinee li-ahsanil-akhlaqi la yahdee li-ahsaniha illa ant, wasrif AAannee sayyi-aha la yasrifu AAannee sayyi-aha illa ant, labbayka wasaAAdayk,walkhayru kulluhu yadaiyka, washsharru laysa ilayk, ana bika wa-ilayk, tabarakta wataAAalayt, astaghfiruka wa-atoobu ilayk

I have turned my face sincerely towards He who has brought forth the heavens and the Earth and I am not of those who associate (others with Allah). Indeed my prayer, my sacrifice, my life and my death are for Allah, Lord of the worlds, no partner has He, with this I am commanded and I am of the Muslims. O Allah, You are the Sovereign, none has the right to be worshipped except You. You are my Lord and I am Your servant, I have wronged my own soul and have acknowledged my sin, so forgive me all my sins for no one forgives sins except You. Guide me to the best of characters for none can guide to it other than You, and deliver me from the worst of characters for none can deliver me from it other than You. Here I am, in answer to Your call, happy to serve you. All good is within Your hands and evil does not stem from You. I exist by your will and will return to you. Blessed and High are You, I seek Your forgiveness and repent unto You

37 / Before Prayer

After Takbeer (Start of prayer)

اللَّهُمَّ بَاعِدْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ خَطَايَاىَ كَمَا بَاعَدْتَ بَيْنَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ اللَّهُمَّ نَقِّنِي مِنْ خَطَايَاىَ كَمَا يُنَقَّى الثَّوْبُ الأَبْيَضُ مِنَ الدَّنَسِ اللَّهُمَّ اغْسِلْنِي مِنْ خَطَايَاىَ بِالثَّلْجِ وَالْمَاءِ وَالْبَرَدِ

Allaahumma baa’id baynee wa bayna khataayaaya kamaa baa’adta baynal-mashriqi walmaghribi, Allaahumma naqqinee min khataayaaya kamaa yunaqqath-thawbul-’abyadhu minad-danasi, Allaahum-maghsilnee min khataayaaya, bith-thalji walmaa’i walbarad

O Allah! separate me from my sins as You have separated the East from the West. O Allah, cleanse me of my transgressions as the white garment is cleansed of stains. O Allah! wash away my sins with ice and water and frost.

Sahih Muslim: 598 ↗

38 / Before Prayer

After Takbeer (Start of prayer)

سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ، وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ، وَلَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ

Subhaanaka Allaahumma wa bihamdika, wa tabaarakasmuka, wa ta’aalaa jadduka, wa laa ‘ilaaha ghayruka

Glory is to You O Allah, and praise. Blessed is Your Name and Exalted is Your Majesty. There is none worthy of worship but You.

Allaahumma laka raka’tu, wa bika ‘aamantu, wa laka ‘aslamtu khasha’a laka sam’ee, wa basaree, wa mukhkhee, wa ‘adhmee, wa ‘asabee

O Allah, to You I have bowed, in You I have believed and to You I have submitted. My hearing, my sight, my brain, my bones and my sinews submit to You.

Glory is to You, Master of power, of dominion, of majesty and greatness.

اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ سَجَدْتُ وَبِكَ آمَنْتُ، وَلَكَ أَسْلَمْتُ، سَجَدَ وَجْهِي لِلَّذِي خَلَقَهُ، وَصَوَّرَهُ، وَشَقَّ سَمْعَهُ وَبَصَرَهُ، تَبَارَكَ اللّٰهُ أَحْسَنُ الْخَالِقِينَ

Allaahumma laka sajadtu wa bika ‘aamantu, wa laka ‘aslamtu, sajada wajhiya lillathee khalaqahu, wa sawwarahu, wa shaqqa sam’ahu wa basarahu, tabaarakallaahu ‘ahsanul-khaaliqeen

O Allah, to You I prostrate myself and in You I believe. To You I have submitted. My face is prostrated to the One Who created it, fashioned it, and gave it hearing and sight. Blessed is Allah, the Best of creators.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِرِضَاكَ مِنْ سَخَطِكَ، وَبِمُعَافَاتِكَ مِنْ عُقُوبَتِكَ، وَاَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْكَ، لَا أُحصِي ثَنَاءً عَلَيْكَ أَنْتَ كَمَا أَثْنَيْتَ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ

Allaahumma ‘innee ‘a’oothu biridhaaka min sakhatika, wa bimu’aafaatika min ‘uqoobatika wa ‘a’oothu bika minka, laa ‘uhsee thanaa’an ‘alayka ‘Anta kamaa ‘athnayta ‘alaa nafsika

O Allah, I seek protection in Your pleasure from Your anger, and I seek protection in Your forgiveness from Your punishment. I seek protection in You from You. I cannot count Your praises. You are as You have praised Yourself.

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذَنْبِي كُلَّهُ دِقَّهُ وَجِلَّهُ وَأَوَّلَهُ وَآخِرَهُ وَعَلاَنِيَتَهُ وَسِرَّهُ

Allaahum-maghfir lee thanbee kullahu, diqqahu wa jillahu, wa ‘awwalahu wa ‘aakhirahu wa ‘alaaniyata hu wa sirrahu

O Allah, forgive me all my sins, great and small, the first and the last, those that are apparent and those that are hidden.

Prostration during Quran Recitation

اللَّهُمَّ اكْتُبْ لِي بِهَا عِنْدَكَ أَجْرًا وَضَعْ عَنِّي بِهَا وِزْرًا وَاجْعَلْهَا لِي عِنْدَكَ ذُخْرًا وَتَقَبَّلْهَا مِنِّي كَمَا تَقَبَّلْتَهَا مِنْ عَبْدِكَ دَاوُدَ

Allahumma uktub li biha indaka ajran, waḍa anni biha wizran, waj alha li indaka dhukhran, wa taqabbalha minni kama taqabbalta min abdika Dawud.

O Allah, write it as a reward for me, and release me from a burden for it, and make it a I treasure for me in Paradise. Accept it from me as You accepted it from your servant Dawud.

التَّحِيَّاتُ لِلّٰهِ، وَالصَّلَوَاتُ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ، السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ، السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى عِبَادِ اللّٰهِ الصَّالِحِينَ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللّٰهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ

Attahiyyaatu lillaahi wassalawaatu, wattayyibaatu, assalaamu ‘alayka ‘ayyuhan-Nabiyyu wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu, assalaamu ‘alaynaa wa ‘alaa ‘ibaadillaahis-saaliheen. ‘Ash-hadu ‘an laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaahu wa ‘ash-hadu ‘anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa Rasooluhu

All greetings of humility are for Allah, and all prayers and goodness. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous slaves of Allah. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger.

Darood-e-Ibraheem

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ، اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ

Allaahumma salli ‘alaa Muhammadin wa ‘alaa ‘aali Muhammadin, kamaa sallayta ‘alaa ‘Ibraaheema wa ‘alaa ‘aali ‘Ibraaheema, ‘innaka Hameedun Majeed. Allaahumma baarik ‘alaa Muhammadin wa ‘alaa ‘aali Muhammadin, kamaa baarakta ‘alaa ‘Ibraaheema wa ‘alaa ‘aali ‘Ibraaheema, ‘innaka Hameedun Majeed

O Allah, bestow Your favor on Muhammad and on the family of Muhammad as You have bestowed Your favor on Ibrahim and on the family of Ibrahim, You are Praiseworthy, Most Glorious. O Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad as You have blessed Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim, You are Praiseworthy, Most Glorious.

53 / During Prayer

After Tashahhud

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ الْمَأْثَمِ وَالْمَغْرَمِ

Allaahumma ‘innee ‘a’oothu bika min ‘athaabil-qabri, wa ‘a’oothu bika min fitnatil-maseehid-dajjaali, wa ‘a’oothu bika min fitnatil-mahyaa walmamaati. Allaahumma ‘innee ‘a’oothu bika minal-ma’thami walmaghrami

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and I seek refuge in You from the trial of the False Messiah, and I seek refuge in You from the trials of life and death. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from sin and from debt.

54 / During Prayer

After Tashahhud

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي ظُلْماً كَثِيراً، وَلَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، فَاغْفِرْ لِي مَغْفِرَةً مِنْ عِنْدِكَ وَارْحَمْنِي إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ

Allaahumma ‘innee dhalamtu nafsee dhulman katheeran, wa laa yaghfiruth-thunooba ‘illaa ‘Anta, faghfir lee maghfiratan min ‘indika warhamnee ‘innaka ‘Antal-Ghafoorur-Raheem

O Allah, I have greatly wronged myself and no one forgives sins but You. So, grant me forgiveness and have mercy on me. Surely, you are Forgiving, Merciful.

55 / During Prayer

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي مَا قَدَّمْتُ وَمَا أَخَّرْتُ، وَمَا أَسْرَرْتُ، وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ، وَمَا أَسْرَفْتُ، وَمَا أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنِّي أَنْتَ الْمُقَدِّمُ، وَأَنْتَ الْمُؤَخِّرُ لَا إِلهَ إِلَاَّ أَنْتَ

Allaahum-maghfir lee maa qaddamtu, wa maa ‘akhkhartu, wa maa ‘asrartu, wa maa ‘a’lantu, wa maa ‘asraftu, wa maa ‘Anta ‘a’lamu bihi minnee. ‘Antal-Muqaddimu, wa ‘Antal-Mu’akhkhiru laa ‘ilaaha ‘illaa ‘Anta

O Allah, forgive me what I have sent before me and what I have left behind me, what I have concealed and what I have done openly, what I have done in excess, and what You are better aware of than I . You are the One Who sends forth and You are the One Who delays . There is none worthy of worship but You.

56 / During Prayer

Dua e Qunoot (recited in Witr prayer)

اَللَّهُمَّ اِنَّا نَسْتَعِيْنُكَ وَنَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَنُؤْمِنُ بِكَ وَنَتَوَكَّلُ عَلَيْكَ وَنُثْنِىْ عَلَيْكَ الْخَيْرَ وَنَشْكُرُكَ وَلَا نَكْفُرُكَ وَنَخْلَعُ وَنَتْرُكُ مَنْ یَّفْجُرُكَ. اَللَّهُمَّ اِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَلَكَ نُصَلِّئ وَنَسْجُدُ وَاِلَيْكَ نَسْعٰى ونَحْفِدُ ونَرْجُوْا رَحْمَتَكَ وَنَخْشٰى عَذَابَكَ اِنَّ عَذَابَكَ بِالْكُفَّارِ مُلْحِقٌ

Allah humma inna nasta-eenoka wa nastaghfiruka wa nu’minu bika wa natawakkalu alaika wa nusni alaikal khair, wa nashkuruka wala nakfuruka wa nakhla-oo wa natruku mai yafjuruka, Allah humma iyyaka na’budu wa laka nusalli wa nasjud wa ilaika nas aaa wa nahfidu wa narju rahma taka wa nakhshaa azaabaka inna azaabaka bil kuffari mulhik.

O Allah! We implore You for help and beg forgiveness of You and believe in You and rely on You and extol You and we are thankful to You and are not ungrateful to You and we alienate and forsake those who disobey You. O Allah! You alone do we worship and for You do we pray and prostrate and we betake to please You and present ourselves for the service in Your cause and we hope for Your mercy and fear Your chastisement. Undoubtedly, Your torment is going to overtake infidels O Allah!

57 / During Prayer

Dua e Qunoot (recited in Witr prayer)

اللَّهُمَّ إِيَّاكَ نعْبُدُ، وَلَكَ نُصَلِّي وَنَسْجُدُ، وَإِلَيْكَ نَسْعَى وَنَحْفِدُ، نَرْجُو رَحْمَتَكَ، وَنَخْشَى عَذَابَكَ، إِنَّ عَذَابَكَ بِالكَافِرِينَ مُلْحَقٌ اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْتَعينُكَ، وَنَسْتَغْفِرُكَ، وَنُثْنِي عَلَيْكَ الْخَيْرَ، وَلاَ نَكْفُرُكَ، وَنُؤْمِنُ بِكَ، وَنَخْضَعُ لَكَ، وَنَخْلَعُ مَنْ يَكْفرُكَ

Allaahumma ‘iyyaaka na’budu, wa laka nusallee wa nasjudu, wa ‘ilayka nas’aa wa nahfidu, narjoo rahmataka, wa nakhshaa ‘athaabaka, ‘inna ‘athaabaka bilkaafireena mulhaq. Allaahumma ‘innaa nasta’eenuka, wa nastaghfiruka, wa nuthnee ‘alaykal-khayr, wa laa nakfuruka, wa nu’minu bika, wa nakhdha’u laka, wa nakhla’u man yakfuruka.

O Allah, You alone do we worship and to You we pray and bow down prostrate. To You we hasten to worship and to serve. Our hope is for Your mercy and we fear Your punishment. Surely, Your punishment of the disbelievers is at hand. O Allah, we seek Your help and Your forgiveness, and we praise You beneficently. We do not deny You and we believe in You. We surrender to You and renounce whoever disbelieves in You.

اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِي فِيمَنْ هَدَيْتَ وَعَافِنِي فِيمَنْ عَافَيْتَ وَتَوَلَّنِي فِيمَنْ تَوَلَّيْتَ وَبَارِكْ لِي فِيمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَقِنِي شَرَّ مَا قَضَيْتَ إِنَّكَ تَقْضِي وَلاَ يُقْضَى عَلَيْكَ وَإِنَّهُ لاَ يَذِلُّ مَنْ وَالَيْتَ وَلاَ يَعِزُّ مَنْ عَادَيْتَ تَبَارَكْتَ رَبَّنَا وَتَعَالَيْتَ

Allahumma ahdini fiman hadait, wa Aafini fiman Aafait, wa tawallani fiman tawallait, wa barikli fima Aatait, wa qina sharra ma qadait, innaka taqdi wa la yuqda alaik. wa Innahu la yadhillu man walait wa la ya’izzu man aadait, Tabarakta Rabbana wa taalait.

O Allah, guide me among those Thou hast guided, grant me security among those Thou hast granted security, take me into Thy charge among those Thou hast taken into Thy charge, bless me in what Thou hast given, guard me from the evil of what Thou hast decreed, for Thou dost decree, and nothing is decreed for Thee. He whom Thou befriendest is not humbled. Blessed and Exalted art Thou, our Lord.

After Fajr Prayer

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْماً نَافِعاً، وَرِزْقاً طَيِّباً، وَعَمَلاً مُتَقَبَّلاً

Allaahumma ‘innee ‘as’aluka ‘ilman naafi’an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa ‘amalan mutaqabbalan

O Allah, I ask You for knowledge that is of benefit, a good provision, and deeds that will be accepted.

سُبْحَانَ اللّٰہِ (33 times) الۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰہ (33 times) اَللّٰہُ اَکۡبَر (34 times)

Subhana-Allah (33 times) Alhamdulillah (33 times) Allahu Akbar (34 times)

Glory be to Allah (33 times), Praise be to Allah (33 times), Allah is the greatest (34 times)

61 / After Prayer

After Prayer Remembrances

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّٰهَ (ثَلاثاً). اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلاَمُ، وَمِنْكَ السَّلَامُ، تَبَارَكْتَ ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالإِكْرَامِ

Astaghfirul-lah (three times) Allahumma antas-salam waminkas-salam, tabarakta thal-jalali wal-ikram.

I ask Allah for forgiveness.(three times) "O Allah, You are As-Salam and from You is all peace, blessed are You, O Possessor of majesty and honour." (AS-Salam: The One Who is free from all defects and deficiencies.)

لَا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ اللَّهُمَّ لَا مَانِعَ لِمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَلَا مُعْطِيَ لِمَا مَنَعْتَ وَلَا يَنْفَعُ ذَا الْجَدِّ مِنْكَ الْجَدُّ

La ilaha illal-lahu wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahul-mulku walahul-hamd, wahuwa AAala kulli shayin qadeer, allahumma la maniAAa lima aAAtayt, wala muAAtiya lima manaAAt, wala yanfaAAu thal-jaddi minkal-jad.

None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise and He is over all things omnipotent.O Allah, none can prevent what You have willed to bestow and none can bestow what You have willed to prevent, and no wealth or majesty can benefit anyone, as from You is all wealth and majesty.

63 / After Prayer

After Prayer Remembrances

سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ، وَاللّٰهُ اَکۡبَرُ (ثلاثاً وثلاثين). لَا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Subhanal-lah walhamdu lillah, wallahu akbar (thirty-three times). La ilaha illal-lahu wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahul-mulku walahul-hamd, wahuwa AAala kulli shayin qadeer.

How perfect Allah is, all praise is for Allah, and Allah is the greatest.’ (thirty-three times) None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise and He is over all things omnipotent.

اَللّٰہُ لَاۤ اِلٰہَ اِلَّا ہُوَ اَلۡحَیُّ الۡقَیُّوۡمُ لَا تَاۡخُذُہٗ سِنَۃٌ وَّ لَا نَوۡمٌ لَہٗ مَا فِی السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ مَا فِی الۡاَرۡضِ مَنۡ ذَا الَّذِیۡ یَشۡفَعُ عِنۡدَہٗۤ اِلَّا بِاِذۡنِہٖ یَعۡلَمُ مَا بَیۡنَ اَیۡدِیۡہِمۡ وَ مَا خَلۡفَہُمۡ وَ لَا یُحِیۡطُوۡنَ بِشَیۡءٍ مِّنۡ عِلۡمِہٖۤ اِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَ وَسِعَ کُرۡسِیُّہُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الۡاَرۡضَ وَ لَا یَـُٔوۡدُہٗ حِفۡظُہُمَا وَ ہُوَ الۡعَلِیُّ الۡعَظِیۡمُ

Allaahu laa ‘ilaaha ‘illaa Huwal-Hayyul-Qayyoom, laa ta’khuthuhu sinatun wa laa nawm, lahu maa fis-samaawaati wa maafil-’ardh, man thal-lathee yashfa’u ‘indahu ‘illaa bi’ithnih, ya’lamu maa bayna ‘aydeehim wa maa khalfahum, wa laa yuheetoona bishay’im-min ‘ilmihi ‘illaa bimaa shaa’a, wasi’a kursiyyuhus-samaawaati wal’ardh, wa laa ya’ooduhu hifdhuhumaa, wa Huwal-’Aliyyul- ‘Adheem

Allah! There is none worthy of worship but He, the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists. Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission? He knows what happens to them in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter. And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills. His Throne extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحَدْهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ . (عَشْر مَرّات بَعْدَ المَغْرِب)

La ilaha illal-lahu wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahul-mulku walahul-hamd, yuhyee wayumeet, wahuwa AAala kulli shayin qadeer.(ten times after the Maghrib Prayer)

None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise, He gives life and causes death and He is over all things omnipotent. (ten times after the Maghrib Prayer)

66 / After Prayer

After Prayer Remembrances

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْماً نَافِعاً وَرِزْقاً طَيِّباً، وَعَمَلاً مُتَقَبَّلاً . (بَعْد السّلامِ من صَلاةِ الفَجْر)

Allahumma innee as-aluka AAilman nafiAAan, warizqan tayyiban, waAAamalan mutaqabbalan.(after salam from Fajr Prayer).

O Allah, I ask You for knowledge which is beneficial and sustenance which is good, and deeds which are acceptable. (To be said after giving salam for the Fajr Prayer)

67 / After Prayer

Offer Salah regularly

اِنَّ رَبِّیۡ لَسَمِیۡعُ الدُّعَآءِ ، رَبِّ اجۡعَلۡنِیۡ مُقِیۡمَ الصَّلٰوۃِ وَ مِنۡ ذُرِّیَّتِیۡ ، رَبَّنَا وَ تَقَبَّلۡ دُعَآءِ

Inna Rabbee la samee ud duaa. Rabbij alnee muqeemas salaati wa min thurriyyatee rabbana wa taqabbal duaa

Indeed, my Lord is the Hearer of supplication. My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and [many] from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication.

68 / Masjid

When going to the Masjid

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ فِي قَلْبِي نُورًا، وَاجْعَلْ فِي لِسَانِي نُورًا، وَاجْعَلْ فِي سَمْعِي نُورًا، وَاجْعَلْ فِي بَصَرِي نُورًا، وَاجْعَلْ خَلْفِي نُورًا، وَأَمَامِي نُورًا، وَاجْعَلْ مِنْ فَوْقِي نُورًا، وَمِنْ تَحْتِي نُورًا ، اللَّهُمَّ وَأَعْظِمْ لِي نُورًا

Allahummaj’al fee qalbee noorun, wafee lisanee noorun, wajAAal fee samAAee noorun, wajAAal fee basaree noorun, wajAAal khalfee noorun, wa-amami noorun, wajAAal min fawqee noorun, wamin tahtee noorun, allahumma wAazim li noora.

O Allah, place light in my heart, light in my tongue, light in my hearing, light in my eyesight, light on my right hand, light on my left hand, light in front of me, light behing me, light below me, O Allah, give me abundant light.

69 / Masjid

Upon entering Masjid

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ وَالسَّلاَمُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللّٰهِ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي وَافْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ

Bismillah, was-salamu ‘ala Rasulillah, Allahummagh-firli dhunubi waftah li abwaba rahmatika

In the name of Allah, and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah. O Allah, forgive me my sins and open the gates of Your mercy for me.

Upon entering Masjid

أَعُوذُ بِاللّٰهِ الْعَظِيمِ وَبِوَجْهِهِ الْكَرِيمِ وَسُلْطَانِهِ الْقَدِيمِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ

aAAoothu billahil-AAatheem wabiwajhihil-kareem wasultanihil-qadeem minash-shaytanir-rajeem

I take refuge with Allah, The Supreme and with His Noble Face, and His eternal authority from the accursed devil

Upon Leaving Masjid

[اَلصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلامُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللّٰهِ] اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ

[Assalatu wassalamu AAala rasoolil-lah], allahumma innee as-aluka min fadlik.

[Prayers and Peace be upon the Messenger of Allah]. O Allah, I ask You from Your favour.

[Assalatu wassalamu AAala rasoolil-lah], Allahumma- simni minash-shaitanir-rajim.

[Prayers and Peace be upon the Messenger of Allah]. O Allah, protect me from the accursed Shaitan.

Morning Remembrance

أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلّٰهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ، رَبِّ أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ مَا فِيْ هَذَا الْيَوْمِ وَخَيْرَ مَا بَعْدَهُ، وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ وَشَرِّ مَا بَعْدَهُ، رَبِّ أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكَسَلِ، وَسُوءِ الْكِبَرِ، رَبِّ أَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ فِيْ النَّارِ وَعَذَابٍ فِيْ الْقَبْرِ

Asbahna wa-asbahal-mulku lillah walhamdu lillah la ilaha illal-lah, wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahul-mulku walahul-hamd, wahuwa AAala kulli shayin qadeer, rabbi as-aluka khayra ma fee hatha-alyawmi, wakhayra ma baAAdaho, wa-aAAoothu bika min sharri hatha-alyawmi, washarri ma baAAdaho, rabbi aAAoothu bika minal-kasal, wasoo-il kibar, rabbi aAAoothu bika min AAathabin fin-nar, waAAathabin fil-qabr.

We have reached the morning and at this very time unto Allah belongs all sovereignty, and all praise is for Allah. None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise and He is over all things omnipotent. My Lord, I ask You for the good of this day and the good of what follows it and I take refuge in You from the evil of this day and the evil of what follows it. My Lord, I take refuge in You from laziness and senility. My Lord, I take refuge in You from torment in the Fire and punishment in the grave.

اللَّهُمَّ بِكَ أَصْبَحْنَا وَبِكَ أَمْسَيْنَا وَبِكَ نَحْيَا وَبِكَ نَمُوتُ وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ

Allahumma bika aṣbaḥna wa bika amsaina wa bika naḥya wa bika namutu wa ilaikal-maṣeer

O Allah, by your leave we have reached the morning and by Your leave we have reached the evening, by Your leave we live and die and to You is our return.

Morning Remembrance

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَّا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَأَبُوءُ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِر لِي فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ

Allahumma anta rabbee la ilaha illa ant, khalaqtanee wa-ana AAabduk, wa-ana AAala AAahdika wawaAAdika mas-tataAAt, aAAoothu bika min sharri ma sanaAAt, aboo-o laka biniAAmatika AAalay, wa-aboo-o bithanbee, faghfir lee fa-innahu la yaghfiruth-thunooba illa ant.

O Allah, You are my Lord, none has the right to be worshipped except You, You created me and I am Your servant and I abide to Your covenant and promise as best I can, I take refuge in You from the evil of which I have committed. I acknowledge Your favour upon me and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for verily none can forgive sin except You.

Morning Remembrance

اللَّهُمَّ أَصْبَحْنَا نُشْهِدُكَ وَنُشْهِدُ حَمَلَةَ عَرْشِكَ وَمَلاَئِكَتَكَ وَجَمِيعَ خَلْقِكَ بِأَنَّكَ اللّٰه لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ وَحْدَكَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُكَ وَرَسُولُكَ

Allahumma aṣbaḥna nush-hiduka wa nush-hidu ḥamalata arshika wa mala’ikataka wa jami`a khalqika bi-annaka Allah, la ilaha illa anta, waḥdaka la sharika laka, wa anna Muḥammadan abduka wa rasuluk

O Allah we have reached morning, calling You to witness, and calling the carriers of Your Throne to witness, and Your angels, and all of Your creation, that You are Allah, none has the right to be worshipped but You, Alone, without partner, and that Muhammad (S.A.W.) is Your slave and Your Messenger.

Morning Remembrance

اللَّهُمَّ مَا أَصْبَحَ بِي مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ فَمِنْكَ وَحْدَكَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَلَكَ الشُّكْرُ

Allahumma ma asbaha bee min niAAmatin, faminka wahdaka la shareeka lak, falakal-hamdu walakash-shukr.

O Allah! whatever favour has come to me, is from You alone, without partner, so for You is all praise and unto You all thanks.

Morning Remembrance

اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي بَدَنِي اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي سَمْعِي اللَّهُمَّ عَافِنِي فِي بَصَرِي لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكُفْرِ وَالْفَقْرِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ

Allahumma AAafinee fee badanee, allahumma AAafinee fee samAAee, allahumma AAafinee fee basaree, la ilaha illa anta. Allahumma innee aAAoothu bika minal-kufri, walfaqri, Allahumma innee aAAoothu bika min AAathabil-qabri, la ilaha illa anta.

O Allah, grant my body health, O Allah, grant my hearing health, O Allah, grant my sight health. None has the right to be worshipped except You. O Allah, I take refuge with You from disbelief and poverty, and I take refuge with You from the punishment of the grave. None has the right to be worshipped except You.

Morning Remembrance

حَسۡبِیَ اللّٰہُ لَاۤ اِلٰہَ اِلَّا ہُوَ ؕ عَلَیۡہِ تَوَکَّلۡتُ وَ ہُوَ رَبُّ الۡعَرۡشِ الۡعَظِیۡمِ

Hasbiyal-lahu la ilaha illa huwa, AAalayhi tawakkalt, wahuwa rabbul-AAarshil-Aaatheem

Allah is Sufficient for me, none has the right to be worshipped except Him, upon Him I rely and He is Lord of the exalted throne.

Morning Remembrance

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي دِينِي وَدُنْيَاىَ وَأَهْلِي وَمَالِي اللَّهُمَّ اسْتُرْ عَوْرَاتِي وَآمِنْ رَوْعَاتِي وَاحْفَظْنِي مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَىَّ وَمِنْ خَلْفِي وَعَنْ يَمِينِي وَعَنْ شِمَالِي وَمِنْ فَوْقِي وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أُغْتَالَ مِنْ تَحْتِي

Allahumma inni as’alukal-’afwa wal-’afiyah fid-dunya wal-akhirah. Allahumma inni as’alukal-’afwa wal-’afiyah fi dini wa dunyaya wa ahli wa mali. Allahum-mastur ‘awrati, wa amin raw’ati wahfazni min bayni yadayya, wa min khalfi, wa ‘an yamini wa ‘an shimali, wa min fawqi, wa ‘audhu bika an ughtala min tahti

O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in this world and in the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in my religious and my worldly affairs. O Allah, conceal my faults, calm my fears, and protect me from before me and behind me, from my right and my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in You from being taken unaware from beneath me.

اللَّهُمَّ فَاطِرَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ عَالِمَ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ رَبَّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَمَلِيكَهُ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسِي وَمِنْ شَرِّ الشَّيْطَانِ وَشَرَكِهِ وَأَنْ أَقْتَرِفَ عَلَى نَفْسِي سُوءًا أَوْ أَجُرَّهُ إِلَى مُسْلِمٍ

Allaahumma faatiras-samaawaati wal’ardhi, Aalimal-ghaybi wash-shahaadati, laa ‘ilaaha ‘illaa ‘Anta, rabba kulli shai’in wa malīkahu, ‘a’oothu bika min sharri nafsee, wa min sharrish-shaytaani wa sharakihi, wa ‘an ‘aqtarifa ‘alaa nafsee soo’an, ‘aw ‘ajurrahu ‘ilaa Muslimin

O Allah, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the seen, there is none worthy of worship except You, Lord of everything and its Owner, I seek refuge in You from the evil of my soul and from the evil of Shaitan and his Shirk, or that I should do some evil to myself or bring it upon a Muslim.

Morning Remembrance

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

Bismil-lahil-lathee la yadurru maAAas-mihi shay-on fil-ardi wala fis-sama-i wahuwas-sameeAAul-AAaleem.

In the name of Allah with whose name nothing is harmed on earth nor in the heavens and He is The All-Hearing, The All-Knowing.(three times)

Morning Remembrance

رَضِيتُ بِاللّٰهِ رَبًّا وَبِالإِسْلاَمِ دِينًا وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ نَبِيًّا

Radeetu billahi rabban wabil-islami deenan wabiMuhammadin nabiyya.

I am pleased with Allah as a Lord, and Islam as a religion and Muhammad peace be upon to him as a Prophet.

Morning Remembrance

سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ عَدَدَ خَلْقِهِ، وَرِضَا نَفْسِهِ، وَزِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ وَمِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ . (ثلاثاً)

Subhanal-lahi wabihamdih, AAadada khalqihi warida nafsih, wazinata AAarshih, wamidada kalimatih.

How perfect Allah is and I praise Him by the number of His creation and His pleasure, and by the weight of His throne, and the ink of His words. (three times)

Morning Remembrance

أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّـي أَسْأَلُكَ خَـيْرَ هَذَا الْـيَوْمِ، فَتْحَهُ، وَنَصْرَهُ، وَنُورَهُ وَبَرَكَتَهُ، وَهُدَاهُ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا فِيهِ وَشَرِّ مَا بَعْدَهُ

Asbahna wa-asbahal-mulku lillahi rabbil-AAalameen, allahumma innee as-aluka khayra hathal-yawm, fat-hahu, wanasrahu, wanoorahu, wabarakatahu, wahudahu, wa-aAAoothu bika min sharri ma feehi, washarri ma baAAdah.

We have reached the morning and at this very time all sovereignty belongs to Allah, Lord of the worlds. O Allah, I ask You for the good of this day, its triumphs and its victories, its light and its blessings and its guidance, and I take refuge in You from the evil of this day and the evil that follows it.

Evening Remembrance

أَمْسَيْنَا وَأَمْسَى الْمُلْكُ لِلّٰهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ رَبِّ أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ مَا فِي هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ وَخَيْرَ مَا بَعْدَهَا وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا فِي هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ وَشَرِّ مَا بَعْدَهَا رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكَسَلِ وَسُوءِ الْكِبَرِ رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ فِي النَّارِ وَعَذَابٍ فِي الْقَبْرِ

Amsayna wa-amsal-mulku lillah walhamdu lillah la ilaha illal-lah, wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahul-mulku walahul-hamd, wahuwa AAala kulli shayin qadeer, rabbi as-aluka khayra ma fee hathihil-laylah, wakhayra ma baAAdaha, wa-aAAoothu bika min sharri hathihil-laylah, washarri ma baAAdaha, rabbi aAAoothu bika minal-kasal, wasoo-il kibar, rabbi aAAoothu bika min AAathabin fin-nar, waAAathabin fil-qabr.

Allahumma bika amsaina wa bika aṣbaḥna wa bika naḥya wa bika namutu wa ilaikan-nushur

O Allah, by You we enter the evening, and by You we enter the morning, and by You we live, and by You we die, and to You is the Resurrection.

Evening Remembrance

اللَّهُمَّ مَا أَمْسَ بِي مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ أَوْ بِأَحَدٍ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ فَمِنْكَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ، فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَلَكَ الشُّكْرُ

Allahumma ma amsa bee min niAAmatin, aw bi-ahadin min khalqik, faminka wahdaka la shareeka lak, falakal-hamdu walakash-shukr.

O Allah, what blessing I or any of Your creation have risen upon, is from You alone, without partner, so for You is all praise and unto You all thanks.

Evening Remembrance

أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللّٰهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ. (ثلاثاً إِذا أمسى)

aAAoothu bikalimatil-lahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq.

I take refuge in Allah’s perfect words from the evil He has created. (three times in the evening)

Evening Remembrance

أَمْسَيْنَا وَأَمْسَى الْمُلْكُ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ هَذَا اللَّيْلَةَ فَتْحَهُ وَنَصْرَهُ وَنُورَهُ وَبَرَكَتَهُ وَهُدَاهُ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا فِيهِ وَشَرِّ مَا بَعْدَهُ

Amsayna wa-amsal-mulku lillahi rabbil-AAalameen, allahumma innee as-aluka khayra hathal-lailata, fat-hahu, wanasrahu, wanoorahu, wabarakatahu, wahudahu, wa-aAAoothu bika min sharri ma feehi, washarri ma baAAdah.

We have reached the evening and at this very time all sovereignty belongs to Allah, Lord of the worlds. O Allah, I ask You for the good of this night, its triumphs and its victories, its light and its blessings and its guidance, and I take refuge in You from the evil of this day and the evil that follows it.

93 / Praising Allah

For praising and glorifying Allah

فَسُبۡحٰنَ اللّٰہِ حِیۡنَ تُمۡسُوۡنَ وَ حِیۡنَ تُصۡبِحُوۡنَ وَ لَہُ الۡحَمۡدُ فِی السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الۡاَرۡضِ وَ عَشِیًّا وَّ حِیۡنَ تُظۡہِرُوۡنَ، یُخۡرِجُ الۡحَیَّ مِنَ الۡمَیِّتِ وَ یُخۡرِجُ الۡمَیِّتَ مِنَ الۡحَیِّ وَ یُحۡیِ الۡاَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِہَا، وَ کَذٰلِکَ تُخۡرَجُوۡنَ

Fasubhana Allahi heenatumsoona waheena tusbihoon. Walahu alhamdu fee assamawatiwal-ardi waAAashiyyan waheena tuthhiroon. Yukhriju alhayya mina almayyitiwayukhriju almayyita mina alhayyi wayuhyee al-ardabaAAda mawtiha wakathalika tukhrajoon.

So glorify Allah [above all that (evil) they associate with Him (O believers)], when you come up to the evening [i.e. offer the (Maghrib) sunset and (‘Isha’) night prayers], and when you enter the morning [i.e offer the (Fajr) morning prayer]. And His is all the praises and thanks in the heavens and the earth, and (glorify Him) in the afternoon (i.e. offer ‘Asr prayer) and when you come up to the time, when the day begins to decline (i.e offer Zuhr prayer). (Ibn ‘Abbas said: ‘These are the five compulsory congregational prayers mentioned in the Quran).’ He brings out the living from the dead, and brings out the dead from the living. And He revives the earth after its death. And thus shall you be brought out (resurrected).

Surah Ar-Room - 30:17-19 ↗

94 / Praising Allah

For praising and glorifying Allah

سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ الْعَظِيمِ

Subhaanal-laahi wa bihamdihi, Subhaanal-laahil-’Adheem.

Glorified is Allah and praised is He. Glorified is Allah the most great.

Sahih Muslim: 2694 ↗

95 / Praising Allah

For praising and glorifying Allah

سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللّٰهُ وَاللّٰهُ اَکۡبَرُ

Subhaanallaahi, walhamdu lillaahi, wa laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaahu, wallaahu ‘Akbar.

Glory is to Allah, and praise is to Allah, and there is none worthy of worship but Allah, and Allah is the Most Great.

Sahih Muslim: 2695 ↗

96 / Praising Allah

For praising and glorifying Allah

سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ‏

Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi

Allah is free from imperfection and His is the praise

Sahih Al-Bukhari: 6405 ↗

97 / Praising Allah

For praising and glorifying Allah

سُبْحَانَ اللّٰهِ الْعَظِيمِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ

Subhaanallaahil-’Adheemi wa bihamdihi.

Glorified is Allah the Most Great and praised is He.

At-Tirmidhi: 3465 ↗

98 / Praising Allah

For praising and glorifying Allah

ہُوَ اللّٰہُ الَّذِیۡ لَاۤ اِلٰہَ اِلَّا ہُوَ ۚ عٰلِمُ الۡغَیۡبِ وَ الشَّہَادَۃِ ۚ ہُوَ الرَّحۡمٰنُ الرَّحِیۡمُ. ہُوَ اللّٰہُ الَّذِیۡ لَاۤ اِلٰہَ اِلَّا ہُوَ ۚ اَلۡمَلِکُ الۡقُدُّوۡسُ السَّلٰمُ الۡمُؤۡمِنُ الۡمُہَیۡمِنُ الۡعَزِیۡزُ الۡجَبَّارُ الۡمُتَکَبِّرُ ؕ سُبۡحٰنَ اللّٰہِ عَمَّا یُشۡرِکُوۡنَ. ہُوَ اللّٰہُ الۡخَالِقُ الۡبَارِئُ الۡمُصَوِّرُ لَہُ الۡاَسۡمَآءُ الۡحُسۡنٰی ؕ یُسَبِّحُ لَہٗ مَا فِی السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الۡاَرۡضِ ۚ وَ ہُوَ الۡعَزِیۡزُ الۡحَکِیۡمُ

Huwa Allahu allathee lailaha illa huwa AAalimu alghaybi washshahadatihuwa arrahmanu arraheem. Huwa Allahu allathee lailaha illa huwa almaliku alquddoosu assalamualmul mominul muhayminu alAAazeezu aljabbaru almutakabbirusubhana Allahi AAamma yushrikoon. Huwa Allahu alkhaliqu albari-oalmusawwiru lahu al-asmao alhusnayusabbihu lahu ma fee assamawatiwal-ardi wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeem.

He is Allah, other than whom there is no deity, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed. He is the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. He is Allah, other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Perfection, the Bestower of Faith, the Overseer, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Superior. Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him. He is Allah, the Creator, the Inventor, the Fashioner; to Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth is exalting Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

Surah Al-Hashr - 59:22-24 ↗

99 / Praising Allah

For praising and glorifying Allah

مَا شَآءَ اللّٰہُ ۙ لَا قُوَّۃَ اِلَّا بِاللّٰہِ

Ma shaa Allahu la quwwata illabillahi

What Allah willed [has occurred], there is no power except in Allah.

Surah Al-Kahf - 18:39 ↗

100 / Praising Allah

For thanking Allah

لَا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ، لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللّٰهِ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللّٰهُ، وَلَا نَعْبُدُ إِلاَّ إِيَّاهُ، لَهُ النِّعْمَةُ وَلَهُ الْفَضْلُ وَلَهُ الثَّنَاءُ الْحَسَنُ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللّٰهُ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْكَافِرُونَ

Laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku, wa lahul-hamdu wa Huwa ‘alaa kulli shay ‘in Qadeer. Laa hawla wa laa quwwata ‘illaa billaahi, laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaahu, wa laa na’budu ‘illaa ‘iyyaahu, lahun-ni’matu wa lahul-fadhlu wa lahuth-thanaa’ul-hasanu, laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaahu mukhliseena lahud-deena wa law karihal-kaafiroon

None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, He has no partner, His is the dominion and His is the praise and He is Able to do all things. There is no power and no might except by Allah . None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and we do not worship any other besides Him . His is grace, and His is bounty and to Him belongs the most excellent praise. None has the right to be worshipped but Allah . (We are) sincere in making our religious devotion to Him, even though the disbelievers may dislike it.

101 / Praising Allah

For thanking Allah

سُبْحَانَ اللّٰہِ، وَالۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰہِ، وَاللّٰہُ اَکۡبَرُ

Subhaanallaahi, Walhamdu lillaahi, Wallaahu ‘Akbar

Glory is to Allah, praise is to Allah, Allah is the Most Great!

An-Nasai: 1353 ↗

102 / Praising Allah

For thanking Allah

اَلۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰہِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنَا وَسَقَانَا وَكَفَانَا وَآوَانَا فَكَمْ مِمَّنْ لاَ كَافِيَ لَهُ وَلاَ مُئْوِيَ

Alhamdu lillahil-lathee atAAamana wasaqana, wakafana, wa-awana, fakam mimman la kafiya lahu wala mu/wee.

All praise is for Allah, Who fed us and gave us drink, and Who is sufficient for us and has sheltered us, for how many have none to suffice them or shelter them.

Sahih Muslim: 2715 ↗

103 / Praising Allah

For thanking Allah

اَلۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰہِ كَثِيرًا طَيِّبًا مُبَارَكًا فِيهِ، غَيْرَ مَكْفِيٍّ، وَلاَ مُوَدَّعٍ وَلاَ مُسْتَغْنًى عَنْهُ، رَبَّنَا

Al-hamdu li l-lah kathiran taiyiban mubarakan fihi ghaira makfiy wala muWada` wala mustaghna’anhu Rabbana.

Praise be to Allah abundantly and sincerely, of such a nature as is productive of blessing, is not insufficient, Abandoned, or ignored, O our lord.

104 / Praising Allah

For being grateful to Allah

رَبِّ اَوۡزِعۡنِیۡۤ اَنۡ اَشۡکُرَ نِعۡمَتَکَ الَّتِیۡۤ اَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَیَّ وَ عَلٰی وَالِدَیَّ وَ اَنۡ اَعۡمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرۡضٰہُ وَ اَصۡلِحۡ لِیۡ فِیۡ ذُرِّیَّتِیۡ ۚؕ اِنِّیۡ تُبۡتُ اِلَیۡکَ وَ اِنِّیۡ مِنَ الۡمُسۡلِمِیۡنَ

Rabbi awzi’nee an ashkura ni’mataka allatee anAAamta AAalayya waAAalawalidayya waan aAAmala salihan tardahuwaaslih lee fee thurriyyatee innee tubtuilayka wa-innee mina almuslimeen

My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims.

Surah Al-Ahqaf - 46:15 ↗

105 / Praising Allah

For being grateful to Allah

رَبِّ اَوۡزِعۡنِیۡۤ اَنۡ اَشۡکُرَ نِعۡمَتَکَ الَّتِیۡۤ اَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَیَّ وَ عَلٰی وَالِدَیَّ وَ اَنۡ اَعۡمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرۡضٰىہُ وَ اَدۡخِلۡنِیۡ بِرَحۡمَتِکَ فِیۡ عِبَادِکَ الصّٰلِحِیۡنَ

Rabbi awziAAnee an ashkura niAAmataka allateeanAAamta AAalayya waAAala walidayya waan aAAmala salihantardahu waadkhilnee birahmatika fee AAibadikaassaliheen

My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants.

Surah An-Naml - 27:19 ↗

106 / Praising Allah

On hearing good news

اَلۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰہِ الَّذِي بِنِعْمَتِهِ تَتِمُّ الصَّالِحَاتُ

Al-hamdu lillahil-ladhi bi ni’matihi tatimmus-salihaat

Praise is to Allah by Whose grace good deeds are completed.

Ibn Majah: 3803 ↗

107 / Praising Allah

For leaving everything in the hands of Allah

قُلِ اللّٰہُمَّ فَاطِرَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الۡاَرۡضِ عٰلِمَ الۡغَیۡبِ وَ الشَّہَادَۃِ اَنۡتَ تَحۡکُمُ بَیۡنَ عِبَادِکَ فِیۡ مَا کَانُوۡا فِیۡہِ یَخۡتَلِفُوۡنَ

Quli allahumma fatira assamawatiwal-ardi AAalima alghaybi washshahadatianta tahkumu bayna AAibadika fee ma kanoofeehi yakhtalifoon

Say (O Muhammad SAW): ‘O Allah! Creator of the heavens and the earth! All-Knower of the Ghaib (unseen) and the seen. You will judge between your slaves about that wherein they used to differ.’

Surah Az-Zumar - 39:46 ↗

108 / Seeking Forgiveness

For forgiveness and Allah's mercy

اَنۡتَ وَلِیُّنَا فَاغۡفِرۡ لَنَا وَ ارۡحَمۡنَا وَ اَنۡتَ خَیۡرُ الۡغٰفِرِیۡنَ وَ اکۡتُبۡ لَنَا فِیۡ ہٰذِہِ الدُّنۡیَا حَسَنَۃً وَّ فِی الۡاٰخِرَۃِ اِنَّا ہُدۡنَاۤ اِلَیۡکَ

Anta waliyyuna faghfirlana warhamna waanta khayru alghafireen. Waktub lana fee hathihi ddunya hasanatan wafee al-akhiratiinna hudna ilayk

(O my Lord) You are our Protector, so forgive us and have mercy upon us; and You are the best of forgivers. And ordain for us good in this world, and in the Hereafter. Certainly we have turned unto You.

Surah Al-A'raf - 7:155-156 ↗

109 / Seeking Forgiveness

For forgiveness and Allah's mercy

رَبَّنَاۤ اٰمَنَّا فَاغۡفِرۡ لَنَا وَ ارۡحَمۡنَا وَ اَنۡتَ خَیۡرُ الرّٰحِمِیۡنَ

Rabbanaa Aamannaa Faghfir Lanaa Warh’amnaa Wa Anta Khayrur Raah’imeen

Our Lord! We believe, so forgive us, and have mercy on us, for You are the Best of all who show mercy!

Surah Al-Muminoon - 23:109 ↗

110 / Seeking Forgiveness

For forgiveness and Allah's mercy

رَّبِّ اغۡفِرۡ وَ ارۡحَمۡ وَ اَنۡتَ خَیۡرُ الرّٰحِمِیۡنَ

Rabbighfir Warh’am Wa Anta Khayrur Raah’imeen

My Lord! Forgive and have mercy, for You are the Best of those who show mercy!

Surah Al-Muminoon - 23:118 ↗

111 / Seeking Forgiveness

For forgiveness and Allah's mercy

رَبَّنَا ظَلَمۡنَاۤ اَنۡفُسَنَا ٜ وَ اِنۡ لَّمۡ تَغۡفِرۡ لَنَا وَ تَرۡحَمۡنَا لَنَکُوۡنَنَّ مِنَ الۡخٰسِرِیۡنَ

Rabbana zalamna anfusina wa il lam taghfir lana wa tarhamna lana kunan minal-khasireen

Our Lord! We have wronged our own souls: If thou forgive us not and bestow not upon us Thy Mercy, we shall certainly be lost.

Surah Al-A'raf - 7:23 ↗

112 / Seeking Forgiveness

For forgiveness and Allah's mercy

رَبَّنَاۤ اٰتِنَا مِنۡ لَّدُنۡکَ رَحۡمَۃً وَّ ہَیِّیٔۡ لَنَا مِنۡ اَمۡرِنَا رَشَدًا

Rabbanaaa Aatina Mil Ladunka Rah’mataw Wa Hayyi Lanaa Min Amrinaa Rashadaa

Our Lord! Bestow on us Mercy from Thyself, and dispose of our affair for us in the right way!

Surah Al-Kahf - 18:10 ↗

113 / Seeking Forgiveness

For forgiveness

رَبِّ اِنِّیۡۤ اَعُوۡذُ بِکَ اَنۡ اَسۡـَٔلَکَ مَا لَـیۡسَ لِیۡ بِہٖ عِلۡمٌ ؕ وَ اِلَّا تَغۡفِرۡ لِیۡ وَ تَرۡحَمۡنِیۡۤ اَکُنۡ مِّنَ الۡخٰسِرِیۡنَ

Rabbi Inneee A-o’od’u Bika An As-alaka Maa Laysa Lee Bihee I’lm Wa Illaa Taghfirlee Wa Tarh’amneee Akum Minal Khaasireen

O my Lord! I seek refuge with You from asking You that of which I have no knowledge. And unless You forgive me and have Mercy on me, I would indeed be one of the losers.

Surah Hud - 11:47 ↗

114 / Seeking Forgiveness

For forgiveness

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّٰهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ (ثَلاَثَ مِرَارٍ)

Astaghfirullaaha wa ‘atoobu ‘ilayhi

I ask Allah’s pardon and turn to Him in repentance. (Three Times)

Abu Dawud: 4380 ↗

115 / Seeking Forgiveness

For forgiveness

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ الَّتِي وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ أَنْ تَغْفِرَ لِي

Allaahumma ‘innee ‘as’aluka birahmatikal-latee wasi’at kulla shay’in ‘an taghfira lee

O Allah, I ask You by Your mercy, which encompasses all things, that You forgive me.

Ibn Majah: 1753 ↗

116 / Seeking Forgiveness

For forgiveness

رَبِّ اغْفِـرْ لي، وَتُبْ عَلَـيَّ، إِنَّكَ أَنْـتَ التَّـوّابُ الغَـفُورُ

Rabbighfir lee wa tub ‘alayya ‘innaka ‘Antat-Tawwaabul-Ghafoor

My Lord, forgive me and accept my repentance, You are the Ever-Relenting, the All-Forgiving.

At-Tirmidhi: 3434 ↗

117 / Seeking Forgiveness

Forgiveness for your siblings

رَبِّ اغۡفِرۡ لِیۡ وَ لِاَخِیۡ وَ اَدۡخِلۡنَا فِیۡ رَحۡمَتِکَ وَ اَنۡتَ اَرۡحَمُ الرّٰحِمِیۡنَ

Rabbi ighfir lee wali akhee wa adkhilna fee rahmatika wa anta arhamur rahimeen

O my Lord! Forgive me and my brother, and make us enter into Your Mercy, for you are the Most Merciful of those who show mercy.

Surah Al-A'raf - 7:151 ↗

118 / Seeking Forgiveness

For asking forgiveness for yourself and anyone who enters your house

رَبِّ اغۡفِرۡ لِیۡ وَ لِوَالِدَیَّ وَ لِمَنۡ دَخَلَ بَیۡتِیَ مُؤۡمِنًا وَّ لِلۡمُؤۡمِنِیۡنَ وَ الۡمُؤۡمِنٰتِ وَ لَا تَزِدِ الظّٰلِمِیۡنَ اِلَّا تَبَارًا

Rabbi ighfir lee waliwalidayyawaliman dakhala baytiya mu’minan walil mu’mineena wal mu’minati wala tazidi aththalimeena illatabaran

My Lord, forgive me and my parents and whoever enters my house a believer and the believing men and believing women. And do not increase the wrongdoers except in destruction.

Surah Nooh - 71:28 ↗

119 / Seeking Forgiveness

For repentance

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ الَّذِي لاَ إِلَهَ إلاَّ هُوَ الحَيُّ القَيّوُمُ وأَتُوبُ إِلَيهِ

Astaghfirullaah alladhee laa ilaaha illaa huwal hayyul qayyoomu wa atoobu ilayhi

I seek the forgiveness of Allah the Mighty, Whom there is none worthy of worship except Him, the Living, the Eternal, and I repent to Him.

120 / Seeking Forgiveness

For repentance

ذٰلِکُمُ اللّٰہُ رَبِّیۡ عَلَیۡہِ تَوَکَّلۡتُ وَ اِلَیۡہِ اُنِیۡبُ

Dhalikumu Allahu rabbee alayhi tawakkaltu wa-ilayhi uneeb

(And say O Muhammad SAW to these polytheists:) Such is Allah, my Lord in Whom I put my trust, and to Him I turn in all of my affairs and in repentance.

Surah Ash-Shuraa - 42:10 ↗

121 / Seeking Forgiveness

Seek Allah's satisfaction

رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلۡ مِنَّا ؕ اِنَّکَ اَنۡتَ السَّمِیۡعُ الۡعَلِیۡمُ

Rabbana taqabbal minna innaka antas Sameeaul Aleem

Our Lord! Accept (this service) from us: For Thou art the All-Hearing, the All-knowing.

Surah Al-Baqarah - 2:127 ↗

122 / Seeking Forgiveness

Seek Allah's satisfaction

رَبَّنَا وَ اجۡعَلۡنَا مُسۡلِمَیۡنِ لَکَ وَ مِنۡ ذُرِّیَّتِنَاۤ اُمَّۃً مُّسۡلِمَۃً لَّکَ ۪ وَ اَرِنَا مَنَاسِکَنَا وَ تُبۡ عَلَیۡنَا ۚ اِنَّکَ اَنۡتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِیۡمُ

Rabbana wa-j’alna Muslimayni laka wa min Dhurriyatina ‘Ummatan Muslimatan laka wa ‘Arina Manasikana wa tub ‘alayna ‘innaka ‘antat-Tawwabu-Raheem

Our Lord! Make of us Muslims, bowing to Thy (Will), and of our progeny a people Muslim, bowing to Thy (will); and show us our place for the celebration of (due) rites; and turn unto us (in Mercy); for Thou art the Oft-Returning, Most Merciful.

Surah Al-Baqarah - 2:128 ↗

123 / Protection

For protection and help from Allah

قُلۡ ہُوَ اللّٰہُ اَحَدٌ، اَللّٰہُ الصَّمَدُ، لَمۡ یَلِدۡ وَ لَمۡ یُوۡلَدۡوَ لَمۡ یَکُنۡ لَّہٗ کُفُوًا اَحَدٌ

Qul Huwallaahu ‘Ahad. Allaahus-Samad. Lam yalid wa lam yoolad. Wa lam yaku-llahu kufuwan ‘ahad

He is Allah (the) One. The Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need, He begets not nor was He begotten, and there is none equal to Him.

Surah Al-Ikhlas (112) ↗

124 / Protection

For protection and help from Allah

قُلۡ اَعُوۡذُ بِرَبِّ الۡفَلَقِ، مِنۡ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ، وَ مِنۡ شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ اِذَا وَقَب، وَ مِنۡ شَرِّ النَّفّٰثٰتِ فِی الۡعُقَدِ، وَ مِنۡ شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ اِذَا حَسَدَ

Qul ‘a’oothu birabbil-falaq. Min sharri maa khalaq. Wa min sharri ghaasiqin ‘ithaa waqab. Wa min sharrin-naffaathaati fil-’uqad. Wa min sharri haasidin ‘ithaa hasad

I seek refuge with (Allah) the Lord of the daybreak, from the evil of what He has created, and from the evil of the darkening (night) as it comes with its darkness, and from the evil of those who practice witchcraft when they blow in the knots, and from the evil of the envier when he envies.

Surah Al-Falaq (113), At-Tirmidhi: 2058 ↗

125 / Protection

For protection and help from Allah

قُلۡ اَعُوۡذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ، مَلِکِ النَّاسِ، اِلٰہِ النَّاسِ، مِنۡ شَرِّ الۡوَسۡوَاسِ الۡخَنَّاسِ، الَّذِیۡ یُوَسۡوِسُ فِیۡ صُدُوۡرِ النَّاسِ، مِنَ الۡجِنَّۃِ وَ النَّاسِ

Qul ‘a’oothu birabbin-naas . Malikin-naas . ‘Ilaahin-naas . Min sharril-waswaasil-khannaas. Allathee yuwaswisu fee sudoorin-naas. Minal-jinnati wannaas

I seek refuge with (Allah) the Lord of mankind, the King of mankind, the God of mankind, from the evil of the whisperer who withdraws, who whispers in the breasts of mankind, of jinns and men.

Surah An-Naas (114), At-Tirmidhi: 2058 ↗

126 / Protection

For protection and help from Allah

اَنَّ اللّٰہَ مَوۡلٰىکُمۡ ؕ نِعۡمَ الۡمَوۡلٰی وَ نِعۡمَ النَّصِیۡرُ

Anna Allaha mawlakum ni’mal mawla wa ni’man naseer

Know that Allah is your protector. Excellent is the protector, and Excellent is the helper.

Surah Al-Anfal - 8:40 ↗

127 / Protection

For protection from Satan/Shaytan

رَّبِّ اَعُوۡذُ بِکَ مِنۡ ہَمَزٰتِ الشَّیٰطِیۡنِ وَ اَعُوۡذُ بِکَ رَبِّ اَنۡ یَّحۡضُرُوۡنِ

Rabbi ‘a`outhubika min hamazaatish-shayaateeni, wa ‘a`outhu bika rabbi ‘ay-yahdhuroon

My Lord! I seek refuge with You from the whisperings (suggestions) of the Shayatin (devils). And I seek refuge with You, My Lord! lest they may attend (or come near) me.

Surah Al-Mu'minoon - 23:97-98 ↗

128 / Protection

For protection from Satan/Shaytan

أَعُوذُ بِاللّٰهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطانِ الرَّجِيْمِ

A’oothu billaahi minash-Shaytaanir-rajeem

I seek refuge with Allah against the Satan, the outcast.

129 / Protection

To keep your family safe from transgressors

رَبِّ نَجِّنِیۡ وَ اَہۡلِیۡ مِمَّا یَعۡمَلُوۡنَ

Rabbi najjinee waahlee mimma ya’maloon.

My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do.

Surah Ash-Shu'araa - 26:169 ↗

130 / Protection

For your child's protection

أُعِيذُكُمَا بِكَلِمَاتِ اللّٰهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لاَمَّةٍ

U’eethukumaa bikalimaatil-laahit-taammati min kulli shaytaanin wa haammatin, wa min kulli ‘aynin laammatin

I seek protection for you in the Perfect Words of Allah from every devil and every beast, and from every envious blameworthy eye.

Abu Dawud: 4737 ↗

131 / Protection

For protection from oppressors

رَبَّنَاۤ اَخۡرِجۡنَا مِنۡ ہٰذِہِ الۡقَرۡیَۃِ الظَّالِمِ اَہۡلُہَا وَ اجۡعَلۡ لَّنَا مِنۡ لَّدُنۡکَ وَلِیًّا وَّ اجۡعَلۡ لَّنَا مِنۡ لَّدُنۡکَ نَصِیۡرًا

rabbana akhrijna min hathihialqaryati aththalimi ahluhawajAAal lana min ladunka waliyyan wajAAallana min ladunka naseera

Our Lord! Rescue us from this town whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from You one who will protect, and raise for us from You one who will help.

Surah An-Nisa - 4:75 ↗

132 / Protection

For protection from oppressors

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ عَضُدِي وَنَصِيرِي بِكَ أَحُولُ وَبِكَ أَصُولُ وَبِكَ أُقَاتِلُ

Allaahumma ‘Anta ‘adhudee, wa ‘Anta naseeree, bika ‘ahoolu, wa bika ‘asoolu, wa bika ‘uqaatilu

O Allah, You are my aid ane my support. By Your defend, by You I attack and by Your I fight.

Abu Dawud: 2632 ↗

133 / Protection

Protect yourself from enemies

اللَّهُمَّ مُنْزِلَ الْكِتَابِ سَرِيعَ الْحِسَابِ اهْزِمِ الأَحْزَابَ اللَّهُمَّ اهْزِمْهُمْ وَزَلْزِلْهُمْ

Allaahumma munzilal-kitaabi, saree’al-hisaabi-hzimil-’ahzaaba- Allaahumma-hzimhum wa zalzilhum

Allah, Revealer of the Book, Swift to account, defeat the groups (of disbelievers). O Allah, defeat them and shake them.

134 / Protection

For curbing fear

اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِيهِمْ بِمَا شِئْتَ

Allaahummak-fineehim bimaa shi’ta

O Allah, suffice (i.e. protect) me against them however You wish.

135 / Protection

For curbing fear

لَّاۤ اِلٰہَ اِلَّاۤ اللّٰہُ

Laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaahu

There is none worthy of worship but Allah.

136 / Protection

Seek protection from wrongdoers

عَلَی اللّٰہِ تَوَکَّلۡنَا ۚ رَبَّنَا لَا تَجۡعَلۡنَا فِتۡنَۃً لِّلۡقَوۡمِ الظّٰلِمِیۡنَ وَ نَجِّنَا بِرَحۡمَتِکَ مِنَ الۡقَوۡمِ الۡکٰفِرِیۡنَ

Alal Allahi thawakkalna rabbana la taj’alna fitnatal lil-qawmidh-Dhalimeen. Wa najjina bi-Rahmatika minal qawmil kafireen.

Upon Allah do we rely. Our Lord, make us not [objects of] trial for the wrongdoing people. And save us by Your mercy from the disbelieving people.

Surah Yunus - 10:85-86 ↗

137 / Protection

For fear of committing Shirk

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أُشْرِكَ بِكَ وَأَنَا أَعْلَمُ، وَأَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِمَا لاَ أَعْلَمُ

Allaahumma ‘innee ‘a’oothu bika ‘an ‘ushrika bika wa ‘anaa ‘a’lamu, wa ‘astaghfiruka limaa laa ‘a’lamu

O Allah, I seek refuge in You lest I associate anything with You knowingly, and I seek Your forgiveness for what I know not.

Al-Adab Al-Mufrad: 716 ↗

138 / Protection

To be a pious Muslim

رَبَّنَا لَا تَجۡعَلۡنَا مَعَ الۡقَوۡمِ الظّٰلِمِیۡنَ

Rabbanaa Laa Taj-a’lnaa Ma – A’l Qawmiz’ Z’aalimeen

Our Lord! Place us not with the people who are Zaalimoon (polytheists and wrong doers).

Surah Al-A'raf - 7:47 ↗

139 / Protection

To be a pious Muslim

رَبِّ فَلَا تَجۡعَلۡنِیۡ فِی الۡقَوۡمِ الظّٰلِمِیۡنَ

Rabbi fala tajAAalnee fee alqawmi aththalimeen

My Lord, then do not place me among the wrongdoing people.

Surah Al-Mu'minoon - 23:94 ↗

140 / Protection

Protection from Natural Disasters & Calamities

[سُوۡرَةُ الإخلاص] قُلۡ ہُوَ اللّٰہُ اَحَدٌ، اَللّٰہُ الصَّمَدُ، لَمۡ یَلِدۡ وَ لَمۡ یُوۡلَدۡوَ لَمۡ یَکُنۡ لَّہٗ کُفُوًا اَحَدٌ [سُوۡرَةُ الفَلَق] قُلۡ اَعُوۡذُ بِرَبِّ الۡفَلَقِ، مِنۡ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ، وَ مِنۡ شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ اِذَا وَقَب، وَ مِنۡ شَرِّ النَّفّٰثٰتِ فِی الۡعُقَدِ، وَ مِنۡ شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ اِذَا حَسَدَ [سُوۡرَةُ النَّاس] قُلۡ اَعُوۡذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ، مَلِکِ النَّاسِ، اِلٰہِ النَّاسِ، مِنۡ شَرِّ الۡوَسۡوَاسِ الۡخَنَّاسِ، الَّذِیۡ یُوَسۡوِسُ فِیۡ صُدُوۡرِ النَّاسِ، مِنَ الۡجِنَّۃِ وَ النَّاسِ

[Surah Al-Ikhlas]Qul Huwa-llahu ‘Ahad, Allahus-Samad, Lam Yalid Wa Lam Yulad, Walam Yakul-La-Hu-Kufuwan ‘Ahad. [Surah Al-Falaq]Qul ‘A’udhu Bi-Rabbil-Falaq, Min Sharri Ma Khalaq, Wa Min Sharri Ghasiqin ‘Idha Waqab, Wa Min Sharri-Naffathati Fil-‘Uqadi, Wa Min Sharri Hasidin ‘Idha Hasad. [Surah An-Nas]Qul ‘A’udhu Bi-Rabbin-Nas, Malikin-Nas, Ilahin-Nas, Min-Sharril-Waswasil-Khan-Nas, Al-Ladhi Yuwas-wisu Fee Sudurin-Nas, Mina Al-Jinnati Wan-Nas.

[Surah Al-Ikhlas] Say, He is Allah, [who is] One, Allah, the Eternal Refuge, He neither begets nor is born, Nor is there to Him any equivalent. [Surah Al-Falaq] Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak, From the evil of that which He created, And from the evil of darkness when it settles, And from the evil of the blowers in knots, And from the evil of an envier when he envies. [Surah An-Nas] Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, The Sovereign of mankind, The God of mankind, From the evil of the retreating whisperer, Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind, From among the jinn and mankind.

Daily Remembrance

اللَّهُمَّ عَالِمَ الغَيْبِ والشَّهَادَةِ، فَاطِرَ السَّموَاتِ والأرْضِ، رَبَّ كُلِّ شَیۡءٍ ومَلِيْكَهُ، أشْهَدُ أنْ لَا إلَهَ إلاَّ أنْتَ، أعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسِي، وَمِنْ شَرِّ الشَّيْطَانِ وَشِرْكِهِ

Allahumma AAalimal-ghaybi washshahadah, fatiras-samawati wal-ard, rabba kulli shayin wamaleekah, ashhadu an la ilaha illa ant, aAAoothu bika min sharri nafsee wamin sharrish-shaytani washirkih

O Allah Knower of the Unseen and the Seen, Originator of the heavens and the earth, Lord of everything and its Possessor, I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except You, I seek refuge from You from the evil of my soul and from the evil of Shaitan and his Shirk.

Daily Remembrance

اللَّهُمَّ أَسْلَمْتُ نَفْسِي إِلَيْكَ، وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِي إِلَيْكَ، وَوَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِي إِلَيْكَ، وَأَلْجَأْتُ ظَهْرِي إِلَيْكَ، رَغْبَةً وَرَهْبَةً إِلَيْكَ، لاَ مَلْجَأَ وَلاَ مَنْجَا مِنْكَ إِلاَّ إِلَيْكَ، آمَنْتُ بِكِتَابِكَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ، وَبِنَبِيِّكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ

Allahumma aslamtu nafsi ilaika wa fauwadtu `Amri ilaika, wa wajjahtu wajhi ilaika wa aljaatu zahri ilaika, reghbatan wa rahbatan ilaika. La maljaa wa la manja minka illa ilaika. Amantu bikitabikal-ladhi anzalta; wa nabiyyikalladhi arsalta

O Allah! I have surrendered myself over to you and have turned my face towards You, and leave all my affairs to You and depend on You and put my trust in You expecting Your reward and fearing Your punishment. There is neither fleeing from You nor refuge but with You. I believe in the Book (Qur’an) which You have revealed and in Your Prophet (Muhammad) whom You have sent.

Everyday Duas

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْجَنَّةَ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ

Allaahumma ‘innee ‘as’alukal-jannata wa ‘a’oothu bika minan-naar

O Allah, I ask You for Paradise and seek Your protection from the Fire.

لَّاۤ اِلٰہَ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡتَ سُبۡحٰنَکَ اِنِّیۡ کُنۡتُ مِنَ الظّٰلِمِیۡنَ

Laa ‘ilaaha ‘illaa ‘Anta subhaanaka ‘innee kuntu minadh-dhaalimeen

There is none worthy of worship but You, glory is to You. Surely, I was among the wrongdoers.

رَبَّنَاۤ اٰتِنَا فِی الدُّنۡیَا حَسَنَۃً وَّ فِی الۡاٰخِرَۃِ حَسَنَۃً وَّ قِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Rabbanaaa Aatinaa Fiddunyaa H’asanah Wa Fil Aakhirati H’asanah Wa Qinaa A’d’aaban Naar

Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the Fire!

For success in this world and aakhira

رَبَّنَاۤ اِنَّکَ جَامِعُ النَّاسِ لِیَوۡمٍ لَّا رَیۡبَ فِیۡہِ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ لَا یُخۡلِفُ الۡمِیۡعَادَ

Rabbana innaka jami’unnasi li-Yawmil la rayba fi innAllaha la yukhliful mi’aad

Our Lord, surely You will gather the people for a Day about which there is no doubt. Indeed, Allah does not fail in His promise.

Surah Al-Imran - 3:9 ↗

For Rizq (sustenance)

اَللّٰہُ لَطِیۡفٌۢ بِعِبَادِہٖ یَرۡزُقُ مَنۡ یَّشَآءُ وَ ہُوَ الۡقَوِیُّ الۡعَزِیۡزُ

Allahu lateefun biAAibadihiyarzuqu man yashao wahuwa alqawiyyu alAAazeez

Allah is very Gracious and Kind to His slaves. He gives provisions to whom He wills. And He is the All-Strong, the All-Mighty.

Surah Ash-Shuraa - 42:19 ↗

For Rizq (sustenance)

رَبَّنَاۤ اَنۡزِلۡ عَلَیۡنَا مَآئِدَۃً مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ تَکُوۡنُ لَنَا عِیۡدًا لِّاَوَّلِنَا وَ اٰخِرِنَا وَ اٰیَۃً مِّنۡکَ ۚ وَ ارۡزُقۡنَا وَ اَنۡتَ خَیۡرُ الرّٰزِقِیۡنَ

Rabbana anzil 'alayna ma'idatam minas-Samai takoonu lana 'idal li-awwa-lina wa aakhirina wa ayatam-minka war-zuqna wa anta Khayrul-Raziqeen

O Allah our Lord! Send us from heaven a table set (with viands), that there may be for us - for the first and the last of us - a solemn festival and a sign from thee; and provide for our sustenance, for thou art the best Sustainer (of our needs).

When you are in need

رَبِّ اِنِّیۡ لِمَاۤ اَنۡزَلۡتَ اِلَیَّ مِنۡ خَیۡرٍ فَقِیۡرٌ

Rabbi innee lima anzalta ilayya min khayrin faqeer

My Lord! Truly, I am in need of whatever good that You bestow on me!

Surah Al-Qasas - 28:24 ↗

For praising Allah

اللّٰہُمَّ مٰلِکَ الۡمُلۡکِ تُؤۡتِی الۡمُلۡکَ مَنۡ تَشَآءُ وَ تَنۡزِعُ الۡمُلۡکَ مِمَّنۡ تَشَآءُ ۫ وَ تُعِزُّ مَنۡ تَشَآءُ وَ تُذِلُّ مَنۡ تَشَآءُ ؕ بِیَدِکَ الۡخَیۡرُ ؕ اِنَّکَ عَلٰی کُلِّ شَیۡءٍ قَدِیۡرٌ، تُوۡلِجُ الَّیۡلَ فِی النَّہَارِ وَ تُوۡلِجُ النَّہَارَ فِی الَّیۡلِ ۫ وَ تُخۡرِجُ الۡحَیَّ مِنَ الۡمَیِّتِ وَ تُخۡرِجُ الۡمَیِّتَ مِنَ الۡحَیِّ ۫ وَ تَرۡزُقُ مَنۡ تَشَآءُ بِغَیۡرِ حِسَابٍ

allahumma malika almulkitu/tee almulka man tashao watanziAAu almulka mimman tashaowatuAAizzu man tashao watuthillu man tashaobiyadika alkhayru innaka AAala kulli shay-in qadeer. Tooliju allayla fee annahariwatooliju annahara fee allayli watukhriju alhayyamina almayyiti watukhriju almayyita mina alhayyi watarzuquman tashao bighayri hisab.

O Allah! Possessor of the kingdom, You give the kingdom to whom You will, and You take the kingdom from whom You will, and You endue with honour whom You will, and You humiliate whom You will. In Your Hand is the good. Verily, You are Able to do all things. You make the night to enter into the day, and You make the day to enter into the night (i.e. increase and decrease in the hours of the night and the day during winter and summer), You bring the living out of the dead, and You bring the dead out of the living. And You give wealth and sustenance to whom You will, without limit (measure or account).

Surah Al-Imran - 3:26-27 ↗

For success

وَ مَا تَوۡفِیۡقِیۡۤ اِلَّا بِاللّٰہِ ؕعَلَیۡہِ تَوَکَّلۡتُ وَ اِلَیۡہِ اُنِیۡبُ

Wama tawfeeqee illa billahiAAalayhi tawakkaltu wa-ilayhi oneeb

My success is not but through Allah. Upon him I have relied, and to Him I return.

Surah Hud - 11:88 ↗

When Visiting the Sick

لَا بَأْسَ طَهُورٌ إِنْ شَاءَ اللّٰهُ

Laa ba’sa tahoorun ‘inshaa’Allaah.

Do not worry, it will be a purification (for you), Allah willing.

When Visiting the Sick

أَسْأَلُ اللّٰهَ الْعَظِيمَ رَبَّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ أَنْ يَشْفِيَكَ

As’alullaahal-’Adheema Rabbal-’Arshil-’Adheemi ‘an yashfiyaka.

I ask Allah who is the Lofty and the Lord of the Mighty Throne that He cures you (Prophet Mohammad (SAW.) said that by reciting this dua seven times, the ill person will regain his health and if death occurs then that (death) is a different issue (i.e. death is written it cannot be prevented))

To alleviate pain

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ، أَعُوذُ بِعِزَّةِ اللّٰهِ وَقُدْرَتِهِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا أَجِدُ وَأُحَاذِرُ. (سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ)

Bismillah, A’udhu bi’izzatil-lahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa uhadhiru.

In the Name of Allah, I seek refuge in the might and power of Allah from the evil of what I feel and what I fear.

156 / Health & Sickness

Upon seeing someone going through a trial or tribulation

الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِي عَافَانِي مِمَّا ابْتَلاَكَ بِهِ وَفَضَّلَنِي عَلَى كَثِيرٍ مِمَّنْ خَلَقَ تَفْضِيلاً

Alhamdu lillaahil-lathee ‘aafaanee mimmab-talaaka bihi wa fadhdhalanee ‘alaa katheerin mimman khalaqa tafdheela

Praise is to Allah Who has spared me what He has afflicted you with, and preferred me greatly above much of what He has created.

If you fall on hard times

اَنِّیۡ مَسَّنِیَ الضُّرُّ وَ اَنۡتَ اَرۡحَمُ الرّٰحِمِیۡنَ

Annee massaniya addurru waanta arhamuarrahimeen

Indeed, adversity has touched me, and you are the Most Merciful of the merciful.

Surah Al-Anbiya - 21:83 ↗

When you are nearing your death

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَارْحَمْنِي وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالرَّفِيقِ الأَعْلَى

Allaahum-maghfir lee warhamnee wa ‘alhiqnee bir-rafeeqil-’a’laa

O Allah, forgive me and have mercy upon me and join me with the highest companions (in Paradise).

When you are nearing your death

لَا اِلٰہَ اِلَّا اللّٰہُ وَاللّٰهُ اَکۡبَرُ، لَا اِلٰہَ اِلَّا اللّٰہُ وَحْدَهُ، لَا اِلٰہَ اِلَّا اللّٰہُ لَا شَرِيۡکَ لَهُ، لَا اِلٰہَ اِلَّا اللّٰہُ لَهُ الْمُلْکُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، لَا اِلٰہَ اِلَّا اللّٰہُ وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ اِلَّا بِاللّٰہِِ

Laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaahu wallaahu ‘Akbar, laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaahu wahdahu, laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaahu laa shareeka lahu, laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaahu lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaahu wa laa hawla wa laa quwwata ‘illaa billaah

There is none worthy of worship but Allah, Allah is the Most Great. None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone. None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, Who has no partner. There is none worthy of worship but Allah, His is the dominion and His is the praise. There is none worthy of worship but Allah, there is no power and no might but by Allah.

When visiting graves

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلَ الدِّيَارِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمِينَ وَإِنَّا إِنْ شَاءَ اللّٰهُ بِكُمْ لاَحِقُونَ نَسْأَلُ اللّٰهَ لَنَا وَلَكُمُ الْعَافِيَةَ

Assalaamu ‘alaykum ‘ahlad-diyaari, minal-mu’mineena walmuslimeena, wa ‘innaa ‘in shaa’ Allaahu bikum laahiqoona [wa yarhamullaahul-mustaqdimeena minnaa walmusta’khireena] ‘as’alullaaha lanaa wa lakumul- ‘aafiyata.

Oh Muslims residing here, salaams on you, by the will of Allah we will also be coming to you. We seek safety for us and you.

[سُوۡرَةُ الفَلَق] قُلۡ اَعُوۡذُ بِرَبِّ الۡفَلَقِ، مِنۡ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ، وَ مِنۡ شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ اِذَا وَقَب، وَ مِنۡ شَرِّ النَّفّٰثٰتِ فِی الۡعُقَدِ، وَ مِنۡ شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ اِذَا حَسَدَ [سُوۡرَةُ النَّاس] ۡقُلۡ اَعُوۡذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ، مَلِکِ النَّاسِ، اِلٰہِ النَّاسِ، مِنۡ شَرِّ الۡوَسۡوَاسِ الۡخَنَّاسِ، الَّذِیۡ یُوَسۡوِسُ فِیۡ صُدُوۡرِ النَّاسِ، مِنَ الۡجِنَّۃِ وَ النَّاسِ

[Surah Al-Falaq]Qul ‘A’udhu Bi-Rabbil-Falaq, Min Sharri Ma Khalaq, Wa Min Sharri Ghasiqin ‘Idha Waqab, Wa Min Sharri-Naffathati Fil-‘Uqadi, Wa Min Sharri Hasidin ‘Idha Hasad. [Surah An-Nas]Qul ‘A’udhu Bi-Rabbin-Nas, Malikin-Nas, Ilahin-Nas, Min-Sharril-Waswasil-Khan-Nas, Al-Ladhi Yuwas-wisu Fee Sudurin-Nas, Mina Al-Jinnati Wan-Nas.

[Surah Al-Falaq]Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak, From the evil of that which He created, And from the evil of darkness when it settles, And from the evil of the blowers in knots, And from the evil of an envier when he envies." [Surah An-Nas]Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, The Sovereign of mankind, The God of mankind, From the evil of the retreating whisperer, Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind, From among the jinn and mankind."

Rabbanaghfir Lee Wa Liwaalidayya Wa Lil-Mu’mineena Yawma Yaqoomul H’isaab

Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers the Day the account is established.

قَالَ رَبِّ اِنِّیۡ ظَلَمۡتُ نَفۡسِیۡ فَاغۡفِرۡ لِیۡ فَغَفَرَ لَہٗ ؕ اِنَّہٗ ہُوَ الۡغَفُوۡرُ الرَّحِیۡمُ، قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَاۤ اَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَیَّ فَلَنۡ اَکُوۡنَ ظَہِیۡرًا لِّلۡمُجۡرِمِیۡنَ، رَبِّ نَجِّنِیۡ مِنَ الۡقَوۡمِ الظّٰلِمِیۡنَ

Qala Rabbi innee thalamtunafsee faghfir lee faghafara lahu innahu huwa alghafooruarraheem Qala Rabbi bima anAAamtaAAalayya falan akoona thaheeran lilmujrimeen Rabbi najjinee mina alqawmi aththalimeen

He said, "My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, so forgive me," and He forgave him. Indeed, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful. He said, "My Lord, for the favor You bestowed upon me, I will never be an assistant to the criminals. My Lord, save me from the wrong doing people.

Surah Al-Qasas - 28:16-17, 21 ↗

رَبِّ اجۡعَلۡنِیۡ مُقِیۡمَ الصَّلٰوۃِ وَ مِنۡ ذُرِّیَّتِیۡ، رَبَّنَا وَ تَقَبَّلۡ دُعَآءِ

Rabbij-A’lnee Muqeemas’ S’alaati Wa Min D’urrriyyatee Rabbanaa Wa Taqabbal Du-A’aa

O my Lord! Make me one who performs As-Salaat (Iqaamat-as-Salaat), and (also) from my offspring, our Lord! And accept my invocation.

Rabbi irhamhuma kama rabbayani sagheera

My Lord, have mercy upon them (parents) as they brought me up [when i was] small.

رَبَّنَا ہَبۡ لَنَا مِنۡ اَزۡوَاجِنَا وَ ذُرِّیّٰتِنَا قُرَّۃَ اَعۡیُنٍ وَّ اجۡعَلۡنَا لِلۡمُتَّقِیۡنَ اِمَامًا

Rabbana Hablana min azwaajina wadhurriy-yatina, qurrata ‘ayioni wa-jalna lil-muttaqeena Imaama

O my Lord! Grant unto us wives and offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and give us (the grace) to lead the righteous.

رَبِّ ہَبۡ لِیۡ مِنۡ لَّدُنۡکَ ذُرِّیَّۃً طَیِّبَۃً ۚ اِنَّکَ سَمِیۡعُ الدُّعَآءِ

Rabbi Hab Lee Mil Ladunka D’urriyyatan T’ayyibah Innaka Samee-u’d Du’aa

O my Lord! Grant me from You, a good offspring. You are indeed the All-Hearer of invocation.

رَبِّ لَا تَذَرۡنِیۡ فَرۡدًا وَّ اَنۡتَ خَیۡرُ الۡوٰرِثِیۡنَ

O My Lord! Leave me not single (childless), though You are the Best of the inheritors.

My Lord! Build me a house in Paradise near You

قَدَّرَ اللّٰهُ وَمَا شَاءَ فَعَلَ

Qadarullaahu wa maa shaa’afa’ala

It is the Decree of Allah and He does whatever He wills.

When stricken by tragedy

اِنَّا لِلّٰہِ وَ اِنَّاۤ اِلَیۡہِ رٰجِعُوۡنَ، اللَّهُمَّ أْجُرْنِي فِي مُصِيبَتِي وَأَخْلِفْ لِي خَيْرًا مِنْهَا

Innaa lillaahi wa ‘innaa ‘ilayhi raaji’oon, Allaahumma’-jurni fee museebatee wa ‘akhliflee khayran minhaa

We are from Allah and unto Him we return. O Allah take me out of my plight and bring to me after it something better.

When stricken by tragedy

حَسۡبُنَا اللّٰہُ وَ نِعۡمَ الۡوَکِیۡلُ

Hasbunallaahu wa ni’amal-wakeel

Allah is sufficient for us and the best of those on whom to depend.

Surah Al-Imran 3:173 ↗

For seeking Allah's help

اِنَّمَاۤ اَشۡکُوۡا بَثِّیۡ وَ حُزۡنِیۡۤ اِلَی اللّٰہِ وَ اَعۡلَمُ مِنَ اللّٰہِ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ

Innama ashkoo baththee wahuzneeila Allahi waaAAlamu mina Allahi ma lataAAlamoon

I only complain of my suffering and my grief to Allah, and I know from Allah that which you do not know.

Surah Yusuf - 12:86 ↗

At times of worry and sorry

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ وَالْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَالْجُبْنِ وَضَلَعِ الدَّيْنِ وَغَلَبَةِ الرِّجَالِ

Allaahumma ‘innee ‘a’oothu bika minal-hammi walhazani, wal’ajzi walkasali, walbukhli waljubni, wa dhala’id-dayni wa ghalabatir-rijaal

O Allah, I seek refuge in you from grief and sadness, from weakness and from laziness, from miserliness and from cowardice, from being overcome by debt and overpowered by men (i .e . others).

When in distress

اللَّهُمَّ رَحْمَتَكَ أَرْجُو فَلاَ تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ وَأَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ

Allaahumma rahmataka ‘arjoo falaa takilnee ‘ilaa nafsee tarfata ‘aynin, wa ‘aslih lee sha’nee kullahu, laa’ilaaha ‘illaa ‘Anta

O Allah, I hope for Your mercy. Do not leave me to myself even for the blinking of an eye (i.e. a moment). Correct all of my affairs for me. There is none worthy of worship but You.

When in distress

لَا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللّٰهُ الْعَظِيمُ الْحَلِيمُ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللّٰهُ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللّٰهُ رَبُّ السَّمَوَاتِ، وَرَبُّ الأَرْضِ، وَرَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْكَرِيمِ

Laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaahul-’Adheemul-Haleem, laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaahu Rabbul-’Arshil-’Adheem, laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaahu Rabbus-samaawaati wa Rabbul-’ardhi wa Rabbul-’Arshil-Kareem

There is none worthy of worship but Allah the Mighty, the Forbearing. There is none worthy of worship but Allah, Lord of the Magnificent Throne. There is none worthy of worship but Allah, Lord of the heavens and Lord of the earth, and Lord of the Noble Throne.

يَا حَىُّ يَا قَيُّومُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ، يَا ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ

Ya hayyu ya qayyoom, birahmatika astagheeth, Ya Dhal-Jalali wal-Ikram

O Ever Living, O Self-Sustaining Sustainer! In Your Mercy do I seek relief, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor.

At-Tirmidhi: 3524 ↗

On hearing a bad news

الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ

Alhamdu lillaahi ‘alaa kulli haal

Praise is to Allah in all circumstances.

For patience during difficult times

رَبَّنَاۤ اَفۡرِغۡ عَلَیۡنَا صَبۡرًا وَّ تَوَفَّنَا مُسۡلِمِیۡنَ

Rabbanaaa Afrigh A’laynaa S’abraw Wa Tawaffanaa Muslimeen

Our Lord! pour out on us patience, and cause us to die as Muslims.

Surah Al-A'raf - 7:126 ↗

When someone insults you

رَبِّ احۡکُمۡ بِالۡحَقِّ وَ رَبُّنَا الرَّحۡمٰنُ الۡمُسۡتَعَانُ عَلٰی مَا تَصِفُوۡنَ

Rabbi ohkum bilhaqqi wa rabbuna arrahmanul musta’aanu alaa ma tasifoon

My Lord, judge [between us] in truth. And our Lord is the Most Merciful, the one whose help is sought against that which you describe.

Surah Al-Anbiya - 21:112 ↗

To trust upon Allah

وَ اُفَوِّضُ اَمۡرِیۡۤ اِلَی اللّٰہِ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ بَصِیۡرٌۢ بِالۡعِبَادِ

wa ufawwidhu amree ila Allahi innallaha baseerun bil ibaad

And you will remember what I [now] say to you, and I entrust my affair to Allah . Indeed, Allah is Seeing of [His] servants.

Surah Ghafir - 40:44 ↗

When someone praises you

اللَّهُمَّ لاَ تُؤَاخِذْنِي بِمَا يَقُولُونَ، وَاغْفِرْ لِي مَا لا يَعْلَمُونَ‏

Allaahumma laa tu’aakhithnee bimaa yaqooloona, waghfir lee maa laa ya’lamoon

O Allah, do not call me to account for what they say and forgive me for what they have no knowledge of.

For patience

رَبَّنَاۤ اَفۡرِغۡ عَلَیۡنَا صَبۡرًا وَّ ثَبِّتۡ اَقۡدَامَنَا وَ انۡصُرۡنَا عَلَی الۡقَوۡمِ الۡکٰفِرِیۡنَ

Rabbana Afrigh A’layna Sabran wa Thabbit Aqdamana Wansurna A’lal Qawmil Kafireen

Our Lord! Bestow on us endurance, make our foothold sure, and give us help against the disbelieving folk.

Al-Baqarah - 2:250 ↗

185 / Loss & Grief

When a loss occurs

اِنَّا لِلّٰہِ وَ اِنَّاۤ اِلَیۡہِ رٰجِعُوۡنَ

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raajioon

Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.

Surah Al-Baqarah 2:156, At-Tirmidhi: 3511 ↗

186 / Success & Rizq

Settle a debt

اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلاَلِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ

Allaahummak-finee bihalaalika ‘an haraamika wa ‘aghninee bifadhlika ‘amman siwaaka

O Allah, suffice me with what You have allowed instead of what You have forbidden, and make me independent of all others besides You.

At-Tirmidhi: 3563 ↗

187 / Success & Rizq

For someone who lends you money

بَارَكَ اللّٰهُ لَكَ فِي أَهْلِكَ وَمَالِكَ إِنَّمَا جَزَاءُ السَّلَفِ الْحَمْدُ وَالأَدَاءُ

Baarakallaahu laka fee ‘ahlika wa maalika, ‘innamaa jazaa’us-salafil-hamdu wal’adaa’

May Allah bless you in your family and your wealth, surely the reward for a loan is praise and returning (what was borrowed).

An-Nasai: 4683 ↗

188 / Strengthening Faith

Strengthen your Imaan

رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغۡ قُلُوۡبَنَا بَعۡدَ اِذۡ ہَدَیۡتَنَا وَ ہَبۡ لَنَا مِنۡ لَّدُنۡکَ رَحۡمَۃً ۚ اِنَّکَ اَنۡتَ الۡوَہَّابُ

Rabbanaa Laa Tuzigh Quloobanaa Ba’-Da Id’hadaytanaa Wa Hab Lanaa Mil Ladunka Rah’mah Innaka Antal Wahaab

Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate (from the truth) after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower.

Surah Al-Imran - 3:8 ↗

189 / Strengthening Faith

Strengthen your Imaan

رَبَّنَا اغۡفِرۡ لَنَا ذُنُوۡبَنَا وَ اِسۡرَافَنَا فِیۡۤ اَمۡرِنَا وَ ثَبِّتۡ اَقۡدَامَنَا وَ انۡصُرۡنَا عَلَی الۡقَوۡمِ الۡکٰفِرِیۡنَ

Rabbanaghfir lanaa d’unoobanaa wa israafanaa fee amrinaa wa thabbit aqdaamanaa wan s’urnaa a’lal qawmil kaafireen

Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and our transgressions (in keeping our duties to You), establish our feet firmly, and give us victory over the disbelieving folk.

Surah Al-Imran - 3:147 ↗

اَعُوۡذُ بِاللّٰہ

To make us practicing Muslims

رَبَّنَاۤ اٰمَنَّا بِمَاۤ اَنۡزَلۡتَ وَ اتَّبَعۡنَا الرَّسُوۡلَ فَاکۡتُبۡنَا مَعَ الشّٰہِدِیۡنَ

Rabbana amanna bima anzalta wattaba ‘nar-Rusula fak-tubna ma’ash-Shahideen

Our Lord! We believe in what Thou hast revealed, and we follow the Messenger. Then write us down among those who bear witness.

193 / Strengthening Faith

Seek forgiveness and strengthen your Imaan

رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذۡنَاۤ اِنۡ نَّسِیۡنَاۤ اَوۡ اَخۡطَاۡنَا، رَبَّنَا وَ لَا تَحۡمِلۡ عَلَیۡنَاۤ اِصۡرًا کَمَا حَمَلۡتَہٗ عَلَی الَّذِیۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِنَا، رَبَّنَا وَ لَا تُحَمِّلۡنَا مَا لَا طَاقَۃَ لَنَا بِہٖ، وَ اعۡفُ عَنَّا، وَ اغۡفِرۡ لَنَا، وَ ارۡحَمۡنَا، اَنۡتَ مَوۡلٰىنَا فَانۡصُرۡنَا عَلَی الۡقَوۡمِ الۡکٰفِرِیۡنَ

Rabbanaa Laa Too-Akhid’naaa In-Naseenaa Aw Akht’aanaa Rabbanaa wa Laa Tah’mil A’laynaaa Is’ran Kamaa Ha’maltahoo A’lal Lad’eena min Qablinaa Rabbanaa wa Laa Tuh’ammilnaa Maa Laa T’aaqata Lanaa Bih Wa’-Fu A’nnaa Waghfirlanaa Warh’amnaa Anta Mawlaanaa Fans’urnaa A’lal Qawmil Kaafireen

Our Lord! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error, our Lord! Lay not on us a burden like that which You did lay on those before us; our Lord! Put not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear. Pardon us and grant us Forgiveness. Have mercy on us. You are our Maula (Patron, Supporter and Protector, etc.) and give us victory over the disbelieving people.

Surah Al-Baqarah - 2:286 ↗

194 / Strengthening Faith

Pledge to Allah

اِنِّیۡ وَجَّہۡتُ وَجۡہِیَ لِلَّذِیۡ فَطَرَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الۡاَرۡضَ حَنِیۡفًا وَّ مَاۤ اَنَا مِنَ الۡمُشۡرِکِیۡنَ

Innee wajjahtu wajhiya lillathee fataraassamawati wal-arda haneefanwama ana mina almushrikeen

Indeed, I have turned my face toward He who created the heavens and the earth, inclining toward truth, and I am not of those who associate others with Allah.

Surah Al-An'am - 6:79 ↗

195 / Strengthening Faith

Pledge to Allah

اِنَّ صَلَاتِیۡ وَ نُسُکِیۡ وَ مَحۡیَایَ وَ مَمَاتِیۡ لِلّٰہِ رَبِّ الۡعٰلَمِیۡنَ لَا شَرِیۡکَ لَہٗ، وَ بِذٰلِکَ اُمِرۡتُ وَ اَنَا اَوَّلُ الۡمُسۡلِمِیۡنَ

inna salatee wanusukee wamahyaya wamamatee lillahi rabbil aalameen. La shareeka lahu wa bithalika omirtu wa ana aw walul muslimeen

Indeed, my prayer, my rites of sacrifice, my living and my dying are for Allah, Lord of the worlds. He has no partner. And of this I have been commanded, and I am the first of the Muslims.

Surah Al-An'am - 6:162-163 ↗

196 / Strengthening Faith

For righteous company

فَاطِرَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الۡاَرۡضِ ۟ اَنۡتَ وَلِیّٖ فِی الدُّنۡیَا وَ الۡاٰخِرَۃِ ۚ تَوَفَّنِیۡ مُسۡلِمًا وَّ اَلۡحِقۡنِیۡ بِالصّٰلِحِیۡنَ

fatira assamawatiwal-ardi anta waliyyee fee addunyawal-akhirati tawaffanee musliman waalhiqneebissaliheen

Creator of the heavens and earth, You are my protector in this world and in the Hereafter. Cause me to die a Muslim and join me with the righteous.

Surah Yusuf - 12:101 ↗

For righteous company

رَبَّنَاۤ اٰمَنَّا فَاکۡتُبۡنَا مَعَ الشّٰہِدِیۡنَ

Rabbana aamana faktubna ma’ ash-shahideen

Our Lord! We believe; write us down among the witnesses.

رَّبِّ زِدۡنِیۡ عِلۡمًا

Rabbi Zidnee I’lmaa.

رَبِّ ہَبۡ لِیۡ حُکۡمًا وَّ اَلۡحِقۡنِیۡ بِالصّٰلِحِیۡنَ، وَ اجۡعَلۡ لِّیۡ لِسَانَ صِدۡقٍ فِی الۡاٰخِرِیۡنَ، وَ اجۡعَلۡنِیۡ مِنۡ وَّرَثَۃِ جَنَّۃِ النَّعِیۡمِ، وَ اغۡفِرۡ لِاَبِیۡۤ اِنَّہٗ کَانَ مِنَ الضَّآلِّیۡنَ، وَ لَا تُخۡزِنِیۡ یَوۡمَ یُبۡعَثُوۡنَ، یَوۡمَ لَا یَنۡفَعُ مَالٌ وَّ لَا بَنُوۡنَ، اِلَّا مَنۡ اَتَی اللّٰہَ بِقَلۡبٍ سَلِیۡمٍ

Rabbi hab lee hukman wa alhiqnee bis saliheen. Waj’al lee lisana sidqin fil akhireen. Waj’al nee min warathati jannatin na’eem. Waghfir li-abee innahu kanamina addalleen. Wala tukhzinee yawma yub’asoon. Yawma la yanfa’u malun walaa banoon. Illa man ata Allah bi qalbin saleem.

My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous. And grant me an honourable mention in later generations. And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure. And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray. And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected. The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children, But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart.

Rabbishrah’ Lee S’adree wa Yassir Leee Amree Wah’–Lul U’qdatam Mil Lisaanee Yafqahoo Qawlee

O my Lord! Open for me my chest. And ease my task for me. And make loose the knot from my tongue, that they understand my speech.

Grant me confidence and eloquence

سُبۡحٰنَکَ لَا عِلۡمَ لَنَاۤ اِلَّا مَا عَلَّمۡتَنَا ؕ اِنَّکَ اَنۡتَ الۡعَلِیۡمُ الۡحَکِیۡمُ

Subhanaka laAAilma lana illa ma AAallamtanainnaka anta alAAaleemu alhakeem

Glory be to You, we have no knowledge except what you have taught us. Verily, it is You, the All-Knower, the All-Wise.

For protection from ignorance

اَعُوۡذُ بِاللّٰہِ اَنۡ اَکُوۡنَ مِنَ الۡجٰہِلِیۡنَ

Aoothu billahi an akoona minal jahileen

I seek refuge in Allah from being among the ignorant.

Surah Al-Baqarah - 2:67 ↗

203 / Day of Judgment

Seek forgiveness and protection from hell

رَبَّنَاۤ اِنَّنَاۤ اٰمَنَّا فَاغۡفِرۡ لَنَا ذُنُوۡبَنَا وَ قِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ

Rabbana innana amanna faghfir lana dhunuubana wa qinna ‘adhaban-Naar

Our Lord! We have indeed believed, so forgive us our sins and save us from the punishment of the Fire.

Surah Al-Imran - 3:16 ↗

204 / Day of Judgment

Seek forgiveness and protection from hell

رَبَّنَا وَسِعۡتَ کُلَّ شَیۡءٍ رَّحۡمَۃً وَّ عِلۡمًا فَاغۡفِرۡ لِلَّذِیۡنَ تَابُوۡا وَ اتَّبَعُوۡا سَبِیۡلَکَ وَ قِہِمۡ عَذَابَ الۡجَحِیۡمِ

Rabbana wasi’ta kulla sha’ir Rahmatanw wa ‘ilman faghfir lilladhina tabu wattaba’u sabilaka waqihim ‘adhabal-Jahiim

Our Lord, You have encompassed all things in mercy and knowledge, so forgive those who have repented and followed Your way and protect them from the punishment of Hellfire.

205 / Day of Judgment

Seek forgiveness and protection from hell

رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقۡتَ ہٰذَا بَاطِلًا ۚ سُبۡحٰنَکَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ، رَبَّنَاۤ اِنَّکَ مَنۡ تُدۡخِلِ النَّارَ فَقَدۡ اَخۡزَیۡتَہٗ، وَ مَا لِلظّٰلِمِیۡنَ مِنۡ اَنۡصَارٍ، رَبَّنَاۤ اِنَّنَا سَمِعۡنَا مُنَادِیًا یُّنَادِیۡ لِلۡاِیۡمَانِ اَنۡ اٰمِنُوۡا بِرَبِّکُمۡ فَاٰمَنَّا ٭ۖ رَبَّنَا فَاغۡفِرۡ لَنَا ذُنُوۡبَنَا وَ کَفِّرۡ عَنَّا سَیِّاٰتِنَا وَ تَوَفَّنَا مَعَ الۡاَبۡرَارِ، رَبَّنَا وَ اٰتِنَا مَا وَعَدۡتَّنَا عَلٰی رُسُلِکَ وَ لَا تُخۡزِنَا یَوۡمَ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ، اِنَّکَ لَا تُخۡلِفُ الۡمِیۡعَادَ

Rabbana ma khalaqta hadha batila Subhanaka faqina ‘adhaban-Naar. Rabbana innaka man tudkhilin nara faqad akhzaytah wa ma liDh-dhalimeena min ansar. Rabbanaa Innanaa Sami’-Naa Munaadiyay Yunaadee Lil – Eemaani An Aaminoo Birabbikum Fa- Aamannaa Rabbanaa Faghfir Lanaa D’unoobanaa Wa Kaffir A’nnaaa Sayyi- Aatinaa Wa Tawaffanaa Ma-A’l Abraaar. Rabbanaa Wa Aatinaa Maa Wa-A’ttanaa A’laa Rusulika Wa Laa Tukhzinaa Yawal Qiyaamah Innak Laa Tukhliful Mee’a’ad.

Our Lord! You have not created (all) this without purpose, glory to You! (Exalted be You above all that they associate with You as partners). Give us salvation from the torment of the Fire. *Our Lord! Verily, whom You admit to the Fire, indeed, You have disgraced him, and never will the Zaalimoon (polytheists and wrong-doers) find any helpers. *Our Lord! Verily, we have heard the call of one (Muhammad p.b.u.h.) calling to Faith: ‘Believe in your Lord,’ and we have believed. *Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and remit from us our evil deeds, and make us die in the state of righteousness along with Al-Abraar (those who are obedient to Allah and follow strictly His Orders). *Our Lord! Grant us what You promised unto us through Your Messengers and disgrace us not on the Day of Resurrection, for You never break (Your) Promise.

206 / Paradise & Hell

For Jannah

رَبَّنَا اصۡرِفۡ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَہَنَّمَ ٭ۖ اِنَّ عَذَابَہَا کَانَ غَرَامًا، اِنَّہَا سَآءَتۡ مُسۡتَقَرًّا وَّ مُقَامًا

Rabbanas-rif ‘anna ‘adhaba jahannama inna ‘adhabaha kana gharama innaha sa’at musta-qarranw wa muqama

Our Lord! Avert from us the Wrath of Hell, for its Wrath is indeed an affliction grievous,- Evil indeed is it as an abode, and as a place to rest in.

Surah Al-Furqan - 25:65-66 ↗

For Jannah

رَبَّنَا وَ اَدۡخِلۡہُمۡ جَنّٰتِ عَدۡنِۣ الَّتِیۡ وَعَدۡتَّہُمۡ وَ مَنۡ صَلَحَ مِنۡ اٰبَآئِہِمۡ وَ اَزۡوَاجِہِمۡ وَ ذُرِّیّٰتِہِمۡ، اِنَّکَ اَنۡتَ الۡعَزِیۡزُ الۡحَکِیۡمُ وَ قِہِمُ السَّیِّاٰتِ وَ مَنۡ تَقِ السَّیِّاٰتِ یَوۡمَئِذٍ فَقَدۡ رَحِمۡتَہٗ وَ ذٰلِکَ ہُوَ الۡفَوۡزُ الۡعَظِیۡمُ

Rabbana wa adhkhilhum Jannati ‘adninil-lati wa’attahum wa man salaha min aba’ihim wa azwajihim wa dhuriyyatihim innaka antal ‘Azizul-Hakim, waqihimus sayyi’at wa man taqis-sayyi’ati yawma’idhin faqad rahimatahu wa dhalika huwal fawzul-’Adheem

Our Lord! And make them enter the ‘Adn (Eden) Paradise (everlasting Gardens) which you have promised them, and to the righteous among their fathers, their wives, and their offspring! Verily, You are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. And save them from (the punishment, because of what they did of) the sins, and whomsoever You save from (the punishment, because of what they did of) the sins (i.e. excuse them) that Day, him verily, You have taken into mercy.’ And that is the supreme success.’

Talbiyah

لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ، لَبَّيْكَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ، إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ، لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ

Labbayk Allaahumma labbayk, labbayk laa shareeka laka labbayk, ‘innal-hamda, wanni’mata, laka walmulk, laa shareeka laka.

Ever at Your service, O Allah, every at Your service. Ever at Your Service, You have no partner, ever at Your service. Verily all praise, blessings and dominions are Yours. You have no partner.

When at Mount Safa and Mount Marwah

لَا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كَلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ أَنْجَزَ وَعْدَهُ وَنَصَرَ عَبْدَهُ وَهَزَمَ الأَحْزَابَ وَحْدَهُ

laa ilaaha ill-allaahu waḥdahu laa shareeka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu wa huwa ‛alaa kulli shay’in qadeer, laa ilaaha ill-allaahu waḥdahu, anjaza wa‛dahu, wa naṣara ‛abdahu, wa hazam-al-’aḥzaaba waḥdah

None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and praise and He is over all things omnipotent. None has the right to be worshipped except Allah alone. He fulfilled His promise, aided His Servant and single-handedly defeated the allies.

اَللّٰہُ اَکۡبَرُ، اَللّٰہُ اَحَدٌ، لَّاۤ اِلٰہَ اِلَّاۤ اللّٰہُ

Allaahu ‘Akbar, Allaahu ‘Ahad, Laa ‘ilaaha ‘illallaah

Allah is the Most Great. Allah is One. There is none worthy of worship but Allah.

Indeed, as-Safa and al-Marwah are among the symbols of Allah.

213 / Ramadan

On the sighting of the crescent moon

اللَّهُمَّ أَهْلِلْهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالْيُمْنِ وَالإِيمَانِ وَالسَّلاَمَةِ وَالإِسْلاَمِ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكَ اللّٰهُ

Allahumma ahlilhu `alaina bil-yumni wal-iman, wassalamati wal-Islam, rabbi wa rabbuk Allah

O Allah, bring it over us with blessing and faith, and security and Islam. My Lord and your Lord is Allah

214 / Ramadan

For the night of destiny (Lailatul Qadr)

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ كَرِيمٌ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

Allahumma innaka Afuwwun [Karimun ] tuhibbul `afwa fa`fu `annee

O Allah, indeed You are Pardoning, [Generous,] You love pardon, so pardon me

215 / Death & Funeral

When offering condolence

إِنَّ لِلّٰهِ مَا أَخَذَ وَلَهُ مَا أَعْطَى وَكُلُّ شَىْءٍ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ بِأَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى فَلْتَصْبِرْ وَلْتَحْتَسِبْ

Inna lillaahi maa ‘akhatha, wa lahu maa ‘a’taa, wa kullu shay’in ‘inda’llahi bi’ajalin musamman. Faltasbir waltahtasib

Surely, Allah takes what is His, and what He gives is His, and to all things He has appointed a time. So, have patience and be rewarded.

216 / Death & Funeral

When closing the eyes of the deceased

اللَّهمَّ اغْفِرْ لِفُلانٍ (باسْمِهِ)، وارْفَعْ دَرَجَتهُ فِي الـمَهْدِيِّيْنَ، واخْلُفْهُ فِي عَقِبِهِ فِي الغَابِريْنَ، واغْفِرْ لَـنَا ولَهُ يَا رَبَّ العَالَـمِيْنَ، وافْسَحْ لَهُ فِي قَبْرِهِ وَنَوِّرْ لَهُ فِيْهِ

Allaahummaghfir li (name of the deceased person) warfa’ darajatahu fil-mahdiyyeena, wakhlufhu fee ‘aqibihi fil-ghaabireena, waghfir-lanaa wa lahu yaa Rabbal-’aalameena, wafsah lahu fee qabrihi wa nawwir lahu feehi

O Allah, forgive [name of the deceased person] and elevate his station among those who are guided. Send him along the path of those who came before, and forgive us and him, O Lord of the worlds. Enlarge for him his grave and shed light upon him in it.

For the deceased at the funeral prayer

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ وَعَافِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنْهُ وَأَكْرِمْ نُزُلَهُ وَوَسِّعْ مُدْخَلَهُ وَاغْسِلْهُ بِالْمَاءِ وَالثَّلْجِ وَالْبَرَدِ وَنَقِّهِ مِنَ الْخَطَايَا كَمَا نَقَّيْتَ الثَّوْبَ الأَبْيَضَ مِنَ الدَّنَسِ وَأَبْدِلْهُ دَارًا خَيْرًا مِنْ دَارِهِ وَأَهْلاً خَيْرًا مِنْ أَهْلِهِ وَزَوْجًا خَيْرًا مِنْ زَوْجِهِ وَأَدْخِلْهُ الْجَنَّةَ وَأَعِذْهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ أَوْ مِنْ عَذَابِ النَّارِ

Allaahum-maghfir lahu warhamhu, wa ‘aafihi, wa’fu ‘anhu, wa ‘akrim nuzulahu, wa wassi’ mudkhalahu, waghsilhu bilmaa’i waththalji walbaradi, wa naqqihi minal-khataayaa kamaa naqqaytath-thawbal-’abyadha minad-danasi, wa ‘abdilhu daaran khayran min daarihi, wa ‘ahlan khayran min ‘ahlihi, wa zawjan khayran min zawjihi, wa ‘adkhilhul-jannata, wa. ‘a’ithhu min ‘athaabil-qabri[wa ‘athaabin-naar]

O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him and give him strength and pardon him. Be generous to him and cause his entrance to be wide and wash him with water and snow and hail. Cleanse him of his transgressions as white cloth is cleansed of stains. Give him an abode better than his home, and a family better than his family and a wife better than his wife. Take him into Paradise and protect him from the punishment of the grave [and from the punishment of Hell-fire].

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِحَيِّنَا وَمَيِّتِنَا وَشَاهِدِنَا وَغَائِبِنَا وَصَغِيرِنَا وَكَبِيرِنَا وَذَكَرِنَا وَأُنْثَانَا اللَّهُمَّ مَنْ أَحْيَيْتَهُ مِنَّا فَأَحْيِهِ عَلَى الإِسْلاَمِ وَمَنْ تَوَفَّيْتَهُ مِنَّا فَتَوَفَّهُ عَلَى الإِيمَانِ اللَّهُمَّ لاَ تَحْرِمْنَا أَجْرَهُ وَلاَ تُضِلَّنَا بَعْدَهُ

Allaahum-maghfir lihayyinaa, wa mayyitinaa, wa shaahidinaa, wa ghaa’ibinaa, wa sagheerinaa wa kabeerinaa, wa thakarinaa wa ‘unthaanaa. Allaahumma man ‘ahyaytahu minnaa fa’ahyihi ‘alal-’Islaami, wa man tawaffaytahu minnaa fatawaffahu ‘alal-’eemaani, Allaahumma laa tahrimnaa ‘ajrahu wa laa tudhillanaa ba’dahu

O Allah forgive our living and our dead, those who are with us and those who are absent, our young and our old, our menfolk and our womenfolk. O Allah, whomever you give life from among us give him life in Islam, and whomever you take way from us take him away in Faith. O Allah, do not forbid us their reward and do not send us astray after them.

For the deceased at the funeral prayer

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ {فُلاَنَ بْنَ فُلاَنٍ} فِي ذِمَّتِكَ وَحَبْلِ جِوَارِكَ فَقِهِ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْقَبْرِ وَعَذَابِ النَّارِ وَأَنْتَ أَهْلُ الْوَفَاءِ وَالْحَقِّ فَاغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ

Allaahumma ‘inna [name the person] fee thimmatika, wa habli jiwaarika, faqihi min fitnatil-qabri wa ‘athaabin-naari, wa ‘Anta ‘ahlul-wafaa’i walhaqqi. Faghfir lahu warhaw.hu ‘innaka ‘Antal-Ghafoorur-Raheem

O Allah, surely [name the person] is under Your protection, and in the rope of Your security, so save him from the trial of the grave and from the punishment of the Fire. You fulfill promises and grant rights, so forgive him and have mercy on him. Surely You are Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.

When placing the deceased in the grave

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ وَعَلَى سُنَّةِ رَسُولِ اللّٰهِ

Bismillaahi wa ‘alaa sunnati Rasoolillaahi

With the Name of Allah and according to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah

For rain

اللَّهُمَّ اسْقِنَا غَيْثًا مُغِيثًا مَرِيئًا مَرِيعاً نَافِعًا غَيْرَ ضَارٍّ عَاجِلاً غَيْرَ آجِلٍ

Allaahumma ‘asqinaa ghaythan mugheethan maree’an muree’an, naafi’an ghayra dhaarrin, ‘aajilan ghayra ‘aajilin.

O Allah! give us rain which will replenish us, abundant, fertilising and profitable, not injurious, granting it now without delayd not delayed.

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ صَيِّبًا نَافِعًا

Allahummaj’alhu Sayyiban nafi`a

O Allah, make it beneficial rain.

مُطِرْنَا بِفَضْلِ اللّٰهِ وَرَحْمَتِهِ

Mutirnaa bifadhlillaahi wa rahmatihi.

We have been given rain by the grace and mercy of Allah.

When there is excessive rain

اللَّهُمَّ حَوَالَيْنَا وَلاَ عَلَيْنَا، اللَّهُمَّ عَلَى الآكَامِ وَالظِّرَابِ وَبُطُونِ الأَوْدِيَةِ وَمَنَابِتِ الشَّجَر

Allaahumma hawaalaynaa wa laa ‘alaynaa. Allaahumma ‘alal-’aakaami wadh-dhiraabi, wa butoonil-’awdiyati, wa manaabitish-shajari

O Allah, let it pass us and not fall upon us, but upon the hills and mountains, and the center of the valleys, and upon the forested lands.

Upon hearing thunder

اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَقْتُلْنَا بِغَضَبِكَ وَلَا تُهْلِكْنَا بِعَذَابِكَ وَعَافِنَا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ

Allahumma la taqtulna bi-ghadabika wa la tuhlikna bi-`adhabika wa `afina qabla dhalik

O Allah, do not kill us with Your wrath, and do not destroy us with Your punishment, and pardon us before that.

During a windstorm

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِهَا وَخَيْرِ مَا فِيهَا وَخَيْرِ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا وَشَرِّ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ

Allahumma inniias’aluka min khairiha wa khairi ma fiha, wa khairi ma ursilat bihi, wa aaudhu bika min sharriha wa sharri ma fiha, wa sharri ma ursilat bih

O Allah, indeed, I ask You for its good, the good of what is in it, and the good of what it has been sent with. And I seek refuge in You from its evil, the evil of what is in it, and the evil of what it has been sent with.

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَهُوَ حَيٌّ لَا يَمُوتُ بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٍ

Laa ilaaha illallaahu wahdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu, yuhyee wa yumeetu, wa Huwa hayyun laa yamootu, biyadihil-khayru, wa Huwa alaa kulli shayin Qadeer.

There is no Lord except Allah. He is One and has no partners. His is the Kingdom and for Him are all praises. He gives life and gives death. He is eternal and everlasting In His control is goodness, and He has power over everything.

سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ

Subhaanaka Allaahumma wa bihamdika, ‘ash-hadu ‘an laa ‘ilaaha ‘illaa ‘Anta, ‘astaghfiruka wa ‘atoobu ‘ilayka

Glory is to You, O Allah, and praise is to You. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but You. I seek Your forgiveness and repent to You.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَخِيرُكَ بِعِلْمِكَ وَأَسْتَقْدِرُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ الْعَظِيمِ، فَإِنَّكَ تَقْدِرُ وَلاَ أَقْدِرُ وَتَعْلَمُ وَلاَ أَعْلَمُ وَأَنْتَ عَلاَّمُ الْغُيُوبِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الأَمْرَ خَيْرٌ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي ـ أَوْ قَالَ عَاجِلِ أَمْرِي وَآجِلِهِ ـ فَاقْدُرْهُ لِي وَيَسِّرْهُ لِي ثُمَّ بَارِكْ لِي فِيهِ، وَإِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الأَمْرَ شَرٌّ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي ـ أَوْ قَالَ فِي عَاجِلِ أَمْرِي وَآجِلِهِ ـ فَاصْرِفْهُ عَنِّي وَاصْرِفْنِي عَنْهُ، وَاقْدُرْ لِي الْخَيْرَ حَيْثُ كَانَ ثُمَّ أَرْضِنِي بِهِ

Allaahumma 'innee 'astakheeruka bi'ilmika, wa 'astaqdiruka biqudratika, wa 'as'aluka min fadhtikal-'Adheemi, fa'innaka taqdiru wa laa 'aqdiru, wa ta'lamu, wa laa 'a'lamu, wa 'Anta 'Allaamul-Ghuyoobi, Allaahumma 'in kunta ta'lamu 'anna haathal-'amra-[then mention the thing to be decided] Khayrun lee fee deenee wa ma'aashee wa 'aaqibati 'amree - [or say] 'Aajilihi wa 'aajilihi - Faqdurhu lee wa yassirhu lee thumma baarik lee feehi, wa 'in kunta ta'lamu 'anna haathal-'amra sharrun lee fee deenee wa ma'aashee wa 'aaqibati 'amree - [or say] 'Aajilihi wa 'aajilihi - Fasrifhu 'annee wasrifnee 'anhu waqdur liyal-khayra haythu kaana thumma 'ardhinee bihi

O Allah, I seek the counsel of Your Knowledge, and I seek the help of Your Omnipotence, and I beseech You for Your Magnificent Grace. Surely, You are Capable and I am not. You know and I know not, and You are the Knower of the unseen. O Allah, if You know that this matter [then mention the thing to be decided] is good for me in my religion and in my life and for my welfare in the life to come, - [or say: in this life and the afterlife] - then ordain it for me and make it easy for me, then bless me in it. And if You know that this matter is bad for me in my religion and in my life and for my welfare in the life to come, - [or say: in this life and the afterlife] - then distance it from me, and distance me from it, and ordain for me what is good wherever it may be, and help me to be content with it. Whoever seeks the counsel of the Creator will not regret it and whoever seeks the advice of the believers will feel confident about his decisions. Allah said in the Qur’an: ‘And consult them in the affair. Then when you have taken a decision, put your trust in Allah.’

رَبَّنَا افۡتَحۡ بَیۡنَنَا وَ بَیۡنَ قَوۡمِنَا بِالۡحَقِّ وَ اَنۡتَ خَیۡرُ الۡفٰتِحِیۡنَ

Rabbanaf-tah baynana wa bayna qawmina bil haqqi wa anta Khayrul Fatiheen

Our Lord! Decide Thou between us and our people in truth, for Thou art the best to decide.

Seek Allah's guidance

اَلۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰہِ الَّذِیۡ ہَدٰىنَا لِہٰذَا ۟ وَ مَا کُنَّا لِنَہۡتَدِیَ لَوۡ لَاۤ اَنۡ ہَدٰىنَا اللّٰہُ

Alhamdu lillahi allathee hadaana lihatha wama kunna linahtadiya lawlaa an hadaana Allahu

Praise to Allah, who has guided us to this; and we would never have been guided if Allah had not guided us.

Seek Allah's guidance

فَاللّٰہُ خَیۡرٌ حٰفِظًا وَّ ہُوَ اَرۡحَمُ الرّٰحِمِیۡنَ

fallahu khayrun hafithan wahuwa arhamu arrahimeen

Allah is the best guardian, and He is the most merciful of the merciful.

Surah Yusuf - 12:64 ↗
